Eli Cain to Depaul over IONA, Wagner, and Deleware.

Exactly...sounds like similar levels Except he's about 3 inches taller than Joel, so him jumping center makes sense. 6'5" jumping center isn't unusual at any HS level. Pretty standard HJ, I agree Does he have a handle with that size?

If we are lucky he will be a better built Colin Stewart, the Schenectady Christian (aka Makeel Christian) kid that ended up at Monmouth. Size, handle and can shoot. Stewart still needs to add some bulk but he is a very serviceable player. Killed Siena at the TUC and did well against Iona in the tournament.

You guys know that the NBA scouts that were here talked about two players. English and Stewart. Mitch never recruited the kid. It's too bad.

Too bad, Siena certainly missed out on Stewart. The kid is only going to get better over the next two years. At 6'7" with his ball skills and shooting ability I'm not surprised the NBA would take a look.

And no, I have no idea what that means.

Owen Wignot 2.0. Only, you know, it went in.
Stewart had a couple nasty dunks in half-court sets this season.

I don't think it was that 'Nasty' it was bad angle on that video, yeah he started to lose the ball just a bit over the rim but he beat 2 guys up top and took it to 2 more down low plus he elevated from just inside the foul line .. Saw it live and it was NASTY.

Nico Clareth finished his high school career tonight with 16 points in an 82-78 loss to St. John's (DC) in thevAlhabra Invitational. Nico mace three try's in overtime: one to tie the game at the end of the first OT, one to open the scoring in the second OT, and one to give Calvert Hall a three point lead with about a minute to go in the second OT. He also blocked a shot at thevend of the first OT that gave a teammate an open lay-up just before the horn, but the shot was missed.
Sounds pretty clutch to me.

I like the type of guy who is held in check and only digs deeper and respond positively and produces. A character guy who lifts the team. You can't beat talent and character. Sounds like an excellent recruit.

He really needs to work on shot selection and also gain more consistency on his jumper. He tends to be streaky. If he only had 16 pts in an overtime game, he probably had a lot of misses early. I'm not so sure what to expect out of his jumper as a frosh. I wish I knew what he shot this past year. Last year was good but what about this year? And he shot 29.4% from 3 in AAU despite putting up 17 pts a game. Do we get the 40% shooter or the 29% one? Once Jimmy gets ahold of him, I think his defensive aggression will take a leap forward. As with many HS players, he tends to play defense in spurts. He picks his spots now. Jimmy will make him play that way more. He has very good recovery speed. A plus speed SG for once. He can generally get to wherever he wants off the bounce. That's where I think he'll shine. Like with Cole, Jimmy won't accept his pull up threes unless they're the end of shot clock variety. He'll make Nico drive more. If we want a truly great defense, he needs to be out there. His shooting and decision making really needs to be fine tuned.
