Thanks PPC, I know you "get it", you lived it. I am "over the moon" excited about this team because of the coach and the the talent in that order. A terrible coach with terrific talent can torpedoe an entire season, likewise, a magician of a coach can only do so much with no talent. This team has both a coach who seems to have everyone's buy-in (on the the team and outside as well)and some terrific kids who just don't know how to lose (Rob Poole like Ryan Rossiter before him will be huge in this respect). Personally, I think most are selling this team short, tough schedule and all... I can see 18-20 wins. Have at it all, that is my non-professional opinion. IMHO 18-20 wins is a totally unrealistic expectation at this juncture,

Hoopsfan, I agree with Magic, it's talent that should be acquired over balancing the classes. Ex: Would you settle for a Carson Palmer or Brandon Weeden over Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, or Aaron Rogers? I know what that answer would be.

Kentucky is #1 in most preseason polls and nobody above Sophomore year will play. People here will say "yeah, but that's Kentucky". It's still about talent, not experience.

I'll say it again, we won't favored in a a game until Dec 23 vs Hofstra!!! that's hard to believe, but we have a really tough schedule. program is going in the right direction, but this year will be a tough one, so be prepared.

. Mark Brown was VERY unhappy at Siena early in his career due to the female demographics on campus at that time. Transfer rumors multiplied but never materialized - he likely could have gone somewhere else very easily! There are other considerations which you seem to be overlooking - commitment, education (they are here to get a degree). Where did you get that from? I was friends with Marc Brown. That's not the reason he considered transferring. He was homesick and had an offer to transfer to Seton Hall on the table, which was minutes from his home. His father Charles talked him into staying and the rest was history.

Thanks for proving my point. It's about talent, not experience. If they can be #1 in the nation with only freshman and soph's, Siena can contend in the MAAC with 3 Juniors, 3 (or 4 if Cole plays) Soph's , and 5 freshman.

Our "talent" as you put it, is MAAC talent!! These kids signed with a MAAC school. What, now because they're our kids, and not Loyolas, they're world beaters? You do know Jimmy bought his kids/recruits with him from Loyola, not Georgetown right?

What, now because they're our kids, and not Loyolas, they're world beaters? Yep. Now you're gettin' it. And they said you were a little slow. I said no way, that HJ is one smart cookie.

If they can't compete in the MAAC, they shouldn't be here.

The recruited kids that Patsos brought with him from Loyola, were solid players in the DC/MD/VA area, but not at the top for their position. They will eventually help Siena win games, but I don't see them overwhelming seasoned talent in the MAAC their first year. Remember, these kids would be coming off the bench if they had stayed at Loyola. The expectations might be a little high this year.

Maybe it's how you or hoopjunkie choose to interpret what people say, instead of just reading it. Nobody said anything about "overwhelming" seasoned talent (as you just did) or being "world beaters", as hoopjunkie did. Some people believe they can be competitive. That's all that was said. Poole and Hymes are proven MAAC starters. A few decent pieces around them should make the team competitive. And I'm not so sure why you think these kids would be coming off the bench at Loyola. They were recruited to play, not watch.
