From Rivals at Peach Jam:
Jalen Poyser, CIA Bounce (Rich Audu's team too) was able to take care of business.
Poyser - a 2015 guard - is another hidden secret who is unranked and ready to breakout further. Heading into his second year at Findlay Prep (NV), it will be interesting to see how much playing time he features with a number of other scorers and star players on the team.
He shot it well, showed off his high IQ, range, and overall fundamentals.
Interest is coming in from Michigan, Oregon State, Wake Forest, Oregon, Siena and New Mexico State. The Wolverines, Demon Deacons and Saints are tracking him consistently, and Michigan assistant Bacari Alexander wants him on campus in the near future.

Jalen Poyser is not included in the Rivals, Scout or ESPN data bases for recruits

No, he is just playing for one of the top prep programs in the country, Findley Prep, and has blown up. It is more imprtant that the schools listed are on him. The rating services will catch up later. In reality we have little chance at this kid, but it is nice to see we are in the picture.
Of course Glens Falls, you are clueless and love to be the look for any excuse to downplay good news.

I appreciate the enthusiasm of some that Jimmy is recruiting an unranked kid that receives a mention on Rivals but the bigger story is that Siena is "Swinging at some big fish" (bigsaintg's awkward phrase that started this thread) other than unranked Jalen Poyser.
Jimmy Patsos is attempting to recruit the following players with national rankings:
Terry Larrier 4**** Bronx
Jacquil Taylor 3*** Cambridge MA
Sterling Taplin 3*** Williamsville, NY
Anthony Pate 2** Brookville, NY
Aaron Calixte 2** Stoughton, MA
Jamil Hood 2** Albany, NY
I appreciate the fact that Coach Patsos does not shy away from a recruiting contest with a school in the ACC, Big East or Big Ten.

"Michigan, Oregon State, Wake Forest, Oregon, Siena and New Mexico State" ... that's the kind of company we should be keeping.

And all of those players are 2014 kids. Poyser is a 2015 kid. The fact that he isn't ranked yet after just finishing his sophomore year isn't really relevant. Especially considering he was playing at one of the top programs in the country with high major talent ahead of him. We will see how his career develops.

Most of the list that GF refers to are old recruits fro the PW days. Larrier, Taylor, and Pate were PW kids. Taplin is good, but we are on the outside looking in and Hood would be a great get for many reasons.
Just because someone is in the database does not mean much. There is only one kid above that is NAtionally ranked: LArrier. He blew up over the winter and sprng and is now #34 by Rivals. Hood is highly regarded but not ranked in a meaningful poll and Taplin a strong mid-major prospect expected to choose between Buffalo, Bonnies, or BU. Taylor has been hurt and will not play again until SEptember but could be a nice steal as he and his brother have been on campus for the Gym Rat. Calixte is a MAAC level player.
GF - just because you can read doesn't mean you understand what you are reading!

GF was clueless last year. He was way over on his estimate on the number of games Siena would win to finish the season. It was clear he doesn't know anything about basketball. Things have not changed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
