I watched the interview and I cant help but feel a LOT better about this situation. Yes. I may have liked the up-and-comers but Patsos is passionate about Siena and it is genuine. He is LIGHT YEARS better than Mitch in presenting himself.
I am optimistic and perhaps jumped the gun on the hire with early disappointment not getting either of the young guys.
I wouldnt say I love the hire but I certainly feel a lot better after seeing the interview along with his intentions going forward. Just seeing someone not looking/sounding like a fool in the media is a great relief in itself.

Jerry Jennings may be the official Mayor of Albany but Jimmy Patsos will really run this town.
Jimmy's always wanted the big stage and now he has it at Siena. Looking forward to seeing him excel.
Jimmy might not be an "up and comer" but at 46 he's the PERFECT age for this job. He is cut from the Fran cloth.
Press conference at 3:30 and Pep rally at 5pm should be fun for the media and fanbase!

Much respect - it takes a real man to post something like that.
I certainly can understand where you were coming from - it's been a long, miserable 3 years. Lots of negativity oozing from everywhere. On first glance, Patsos is not the sort of hire many of us were expecting or looking for. However, upon further review, looking realistically at where hte program is, and where it's going in the next few years, he just may be the perfect LEADER Siena Basketball needs right now. I don't think anyone thinks he's the greatest basketball coach - hell he'd probably be the first to tell you that. But he does bring a LOT of positives to the table.
I think it's prudent to focus on this upcoming season and supporting our new coach in getting this ship righted ASAP. That in and of itself is going to be a monumental task.

October and November are going to be hard to wait for due to the excitement level Jimmy is going to create. Basketball, especially Siena basketball, is the only attractive thing about winter for most of us. Go Saints.

Understood SF - Like I said I was not enamored with the hire at first, but, like MikeC said, he could be just what the program needs right now. Let things shake out regarding his staff, players coming & going and see what we have.
GO JIMMY!!

Lots of skeptical fans that Coach will need to win over. I think he can do it. At the end of the day, it will come down to winning games.

SaintsFan, Does this mean papi and you are snuggle buddies?
I'll go on record that this dude will win at least 15 next year. I might even see one.

Papi, do you realize 360 is a circle? Which means they end up back where they started.
