Where is the “it’s a great day to be a saint” tweet! I miss those.

As long as we fill all 13 spots then I am all onboard for loading up on boom or bust guys. Let's just not go the Carm route and decide that we have 10 guys that are so talented that we don't even need to use the last scholarships and then act all shocked when injuries happen.

Really nice pickup. Very optimistic he will be a good one for us.
Curious what the PG market looks like.

Also agree that we need two more guards heck with 5 spots open I’ll take 3 more guards, another wing and another big man. I agree Jackson is good for your 3rd or 4th guard off the bench for depth. Also still in the mix with this kid—

If the staff can lock him up and land a good starting pg, backup pg, and one more SG/CG for depth we’ll be in great shape.

Interesting that the official announcement lists him as a guard. I’ve always thought of him more as a 3/wing type….

Know there are still two spots to fill but is there anywhere on here we've got the current roster and who plays what position? What class they are would be helpful too not that you can count on anyone for more than 1 year at this point anyways. Feel like usually by this point we are on MTS' third or fourth version of exactly how many minutes everyone is going to play at each position.

F 6-9 215 Peter Carey R-So. C 6-11 205 Devin Brafford Fr. C 7-1 205 Marcus Jackson Jr. G 6-2 180 Tajae Jones Fr. F 6-8 205 Major Freeman Jr. G 6-3 180 Reid Ducharme R-Fr. G 6-7 200 Justice Shoats Jr. G 5-11 175 Michael Ojo So. F 6’7 212 Bralyn Smith. So. G 6’5 171 Brendan Coyle Jr. F 6’7 207 Gavin Doty Fr. G 6'5 205 Siena has officially announced all 8 commitments and we know that the 3 returners are back. Two more scholarship players to add. I’m thinking another guard and a wing. I’m hoping for two older guys. We’re still pretty young right now we have 6 players who are frosh/sophs (though Peter Carey is a third year player) Too early for the depth chart though 😉

I think its imperative that the last 2 schollies are filled with experienced, battle-tested veterans.
IF anyone put the amount of D-1 minutes each one of the kids above has played, there would be a mass panic on the board. Guessing Jackson is easily #1, and then a big drop off. Meaning we have a lot of question marks that could turn out great, and just as easily go the other way.

Can’t have it both ways. I’d like a Knapp/Tay Fisher type shooter and then best available. Should have some good NIL money left and there is still a lot of talent in the portal.

Interesting that the official announcement lists him as a guard. I’ve always thought of him more as a 3/wing type…. People freaking out that the roster doesn't have enough guards are forgetting that GMac said he wanted a big athletic team. That means big guards. I suspect both Ducharme and Coyle will be part of Siena's guard rotation - their game is more guard, less forward despite their 6'7 height. Same as Prosper Karangwa was. My guess is he'll run 3 guards, and 3 bigs. The 5 will be occupied by Brafford & Carey, the 4 by Wilmouth, Ojo, and Jones, the 1 by Freeman and and Shoats, and the other two spots divvied up by everyone else. GMac will probably play 9-10 guys, so with two spots yet to be filled, It'll be interesting to see who doesn't make the playing rotation. I think most here would like to see Jakai Sanders re-recruited for one of the two open spots, but it's looking like that ship has sailed.

It really doesn’t matter if they call someone a guard or a forward. I fully expect that when they announce Siena’s starting lineup at the first game this season, there will be three “guards” introduced. But if you’re not quick enough to guard the other team’s 2, and are matched up against their 3 on defense, then you’re a forward, no matter what they call you.
