I don't think he is getting the job full time yet.   I think the plan this season was for him and Justin Shackil to split time and appears they wont make a permanent choice of replacement until after this season.   Great gig though.  He did a few games for the Yanks last year and I thought he was fantastic.   Justin Shackil is very good too so will be interesting to see.

Did he have to put his name in the portal or just apply for the job. That is quite a jump from Siena basketball. I hope he doesn't put a jinx on the Yankees, Siena hasn't been good since he got the job. Although they were good even before that.
