Can we put Carm in the portal? Max should’ve played much more this year! Shame on you Carmie!
Hope they do exit interviews - include the President

We'll be luck to get a guy as good as Eley. He's what Carm desperately needs...a guy who can create his own shot. The offense certainly doesn't provide any easy looks. If Carm stays (as it is looking now) we'll get roster churn but I highly suspect the overall caliber won't be markedly different. I hope SD and Gio stay. I suppose at this point it doesn't matter. Next year is a write-off IMO. Kudos to those who have the persistence to see this through to better times. He quit on the team and is softer than a baby’s ass. Carm deserves a lot of blame but don’t let these guys off the hook. They sucked this year. I refuse to say next season is a write off. We’re in the friggin MAAC you can go from 4 wins to 24. Go get older talented experienced players. I agree. It appears that many here don’t put much of the blame on Eley this year and Javion last year. NIL has created monsters and these kids are taking advantage of it. Get these kids on the way down, not up. Good luck to Eley in the portal. I wouldn’t want him.

I saw a kid that was pretty banged up most of the year, make several attempts to come back to play, including at the end of the season and in the tourney. That was despite the team's horrific season and having to play with inferior teammates. I do not view that as a kid who quit on the team. Why would any player (except the walk-ons) want to return for another year under Carm? I cannot blame Michael for wanting a fresh start. If he’s truly hurt, he will go nowhere. I expect a speedy recovery.

Saying Eley was "soft" and quit on the team is a loser's mentality trying to victim blame. He was fully engaged and supportive during his bench tenure and gave what he could as he hobbled up and down the court grimacing. The arm-chair athletes haven't a clue what an athlete who's injured experiences... Let's lay the full blame of our most talented players leaving where it belongs -on Carm and company. Carm of the apathetic, cool, fan insulting, IDGAF demeanor. I also find it interesting that all our players who left or were not "wanted" or "encouraged" to stay all flourished elsewhere ...an intriguing stat. Hope Eley finds this success too. I see him leaving as another feather in the dump Carm hat We watched the games, many live. The body language and enthusiasm was clear. I expect a full recovery for Eley. Good riddance. (Sic corrected per legacy) 😝 Blaming the victim? Eley is a victim? Please stop with the stupid comments. He got two free years of education and NIL money that was a bad investment for the program. Siena basketball and the fans were the victims here.

Absolutely knew this would come. Carm would sit him for 20 minutes at a time. It was obvious that the two of them were so far apart. Tekin is not a capable D-1 point guard. He should have never been recruited. Soup, you may be right but this departure really bothers me and is telling. Kid played hard all the time.

Is Tekin a victim? Quote from Singelais story:
“Siena very nice school but not good experience for Zek,” his father, Mustafa, wrote. “Best not to talk about it. Hope next team he will be happy.”
You guys can fault ME all you want. For those who are I ask why would he or any other current player want to return to Siena and play for Carm again? We all witnessed the awful coaching and the BS of Carm in the public eye, can you imagine what he is like behind the scenes? What is it like to be coached by him and to play for him? What quality player would want to stay and play for one of the 10 worst teams in D1?

I guarantee much like javion he will not be “hurt” next season. As for tekin he was not a d1 player and is still not a d1 player. Frazier was a wasted ship as I also do not believe he is a d1 player.

NCAA sports has become a complete joke, and now that it’s unlimited transfers watch out it’s about to become intolerable. I wouldn’t want to be entering the coaching profession today.
There were almost 2600 players (1700 D1 900 D2) entering in 2023. As of today almost 800 D1/D2 players have entered.
This is completely out of hand.

Consider that there should only be about 3,000 d1 players with 1-3 years of eligibility remaining. So the transfer rate is about 25-50? Insane. If I'm a parent I'd think long and hard before paying for a wedding for this generation.

The portal should be a place where the most/more talented players seek a larger stage and now more money. When a school has a "project point guard" (Tekin) and a border-line D1 player (Frazier) entering the portal, it speaks volumes. It's not even that there is a lot of talent ahead of them on the team that they are seeking playing time. Call me a fair weather fan or not a fan at all, but sticking around for the last decade and a half hoping things would get better is like being in a toxic relationship. I'm out for now. Get a decent team on the floor and win a few meaningful games and I will be back. Frankly, I've got better things to do with my time.
