You’re right. Real test case to see school priorities. Absolutely no basketball reason he should be back. If he is here next year the school shows its hand that the men’s basketball program is not a priority. If that is the case, supporting Siena College will no longer be a priority of mine. I still maintain they should fire him now so they can jump on a replacement and give that coach more time to get a staff together and a plan for the roster. There is no sense in prolonging this any longer. Won’t happen and I’m not even certain they’ll fire Carm after the season. Unless he’s delusional (no joke) he sounded like a guy coming back.

Not being able to eat $800K for a college the size of Siena doesn't mean hoop is not a priority.

$800K is only looking at the contract in a vacuum. The loss of season-ticket holders, walk-up sales, potentially paying the arena for failure to reach minimum attendance, and all costs associated with the degradation of the brand is a test case in my opinion. Not paying a buyout is short-sighted gain at the expense of long-term commitment to building the program. That’s why I view this decision as basketball being a priority or not.

Not being able to eat $800K for a college the size of Siena doesn't mean hoop is not a priority. If they can’t raise and pay 800k when the program’s future and majority of season ticket sales are on the line, it doesn’t matter if the admin wants to make basketball a priority or not. It shows Siena can’t compete and do what it needs to do. Carm needs to go and someone other than D'Argenio needs to make the next hire.

The score bug did have us at something like 15-11, 9-5 MAAC most of the second half. Too bad we weren't really smoking whatever they were. Awful! Can't see some of the players or the basket at times. ESPN should be the one embarrassed by this work - no score, no time posted, 1/2 the court cut off- terrible camera work - Mickey Mouse operation at Fairfield

Hey Carm, since we all know you read this, we’ve been taking notes too. Notes include, but are not limited to, abject failure in the following areas: recruiting, roster management, offense, defense, improving talent over time, timeout usage, play design out of timeouts, backing your players, ownership of your shortcomings, and general demeanor toward your fan base. You have ruined Siena basketball with your ineptitude and arrogance.

Fairfield’s overall and MAAC records were not correct on the score bug either. No where near as egregious as ours, but the entire thing was laughable. Especially when the announcers kept referencing records verbally, you’d think the producer, director, or bug operator would notice something over the course an entire broadcast.

I don't think Carm will have to clean house if he is still HC (which I hope he is not) as most of his players will be leaving on their own. Who would want to stick around after this season's disaster?

I agree with this and the long list of deficiencies attributed to Carm earlier in this thread. They have been pretty evident for awhile now. Unfortunately, the Admin has been just as inept, but for much longer. After I missed my first 6 home games this season, it totaled more games than I have missed in total since I began attending games back in 1978. My wife has missed a handful more in the same time frame. We have been season ticket holders ever since they started playing the full schedule at the Knick. Could never obtain season tickets at the ARC for some reason, but still went faithfully. Obviously, our tickets were paid in full many months ago, so we felt the only way we could impact any decision on the future of our beloved Saints would be our empty seats. It’s painful, but I hope it will be worth it for the program. We really miss being there and miss the dear friends we have made over the years. Hopefully, it won’t be long and we can get back a very special and important part of our lives. Go Saints!

Who would want to stick around after this season's disaster? Not many of these kids will have any options. And Carm isn't going to get rid of the kids he needs to get rid of - starting with Courtney Mason. If he announces that kid is getting a scholarship, someone should burn the ARC down.

Carm is 4-29 in his last 33 games. He can't retain coaches, he can't retain his best players, he wasn't able to fill all of his available scholarships because no one will play for him.
If he is retained for next season - that is some ELITE white privilege and will be a stain on Siena for some time.

If he is retained what does he have to do next season to finish his contract? Does .500 do it or does he need 20+ wins?

My wife and I have sat next to NYGNEP and his wife 26 seasons and it pains us that Carm has turned off such great fans. We too miss many games and we miss you Terry and Pam
