Good effort by UA. Duke had to shoot 60% to beat them. Will Brown should at least get an interview for the job if he is interested IMHO.

Give Will Brown credit, he got the most out of those kids this year. Losing Aronhalt and Suero, I thought they were going to have the season we had. Say what you want about him with some of the nonsense with the media, his players are super loyal to him and they always give a great effort.

I have always been amazed at how ,Duke opens the floor and attacks the hoop. Albany seemed to take that away todaywhich kept rhe Dukies from covering spread. Good effort . Only problem is that R W will make me sick talking about U A's near win,

Brown does deserves props, he got it.........as does his team.......but that's kind of dumb to say his players are super loyal & give great effort.........that is the NORM in a team sport, otherwise why are they playing.............Mitch's kids played very hard even with the bad results it was not from a lack of effort, bad coaching perhaps but not bad effort, as far as being loyal to him, OD's comments were very positive towards his coach and he was the team leader, others well who knows..............UA had a very good yr in a league that isn't very good, had benefit of tourney at SEFCU which helped, beating UVM at their place with money on the table was the pinnacle for them for sure, tougher than the game today vs. Duke!!!!!!!!

That's a little naive to believe that players being super loyal is a norm. Mitch never had a guy that would run through a wall for him, maybe Rossiter, but at the end of the day, he had high character kids that Fran brought in-Rossiter, Downey and OD that wouldn't let this group mail it in. There's a big difference between not mailing it in and giving a great effort.

I've wondered if that is why all the injuries under Mitch and not as many under Fran-- same as Lanier versus Hewitt, Beyer versus Deane, etc probably best not to speculate though.

Will Brown be back for UA or will McElroy offer him a one year extension to see what happens next year? As reported yesterday, UA will be extending him 4 years (+1 he has left) so he'll be under contract for the next 5 (maximum under state law) and will give him a raise from 250k to 270-300k.

Sounds like Brown is willing to accept the AD's offer. All he can hope for is an offer elsewhere for more money and go back and try to leverage more money out of McElroy. But from what McElroy is saying he would probably say take it or leave it and stand pat with his offer.
