Ranking the Maac announcing crews:

So far:

1) Fairfield, simply the best. heussler and Desantis deserve better than the product FF puts on the floor.

2 Niagara, meh. PBP guy sucks … color guy was unremarkable.

3) Quinipiac, unbelievably bad. Diane Nolan is fine, but the other two guys are unlistenable.

I’ll update after each game.

Robert Lee is very good, not a fan of any of the color guys or the radio guy. Kelly O’Donnell is meh at best. Rankings are only of non Siena announcers.

Agreed. Robert and Tom were great, and we got spoiled.

Im a little partial to Marists crew of Dean Darling and Steve Eggink. I think they do a great job. Darling has done Red Foxes hoops for 39 years, and Army football in the fall for the last 42. Legend in the Hudson Valley. Eggink is from Oregon, and was a player at Marist in the early 80's

Well, when you’re in Texas, I only see games on tv/streaming. Who is calling them becomes noticeable from game to game.

2) Marist, solid not spectacular. Points for consistency and not being as blatant homers as some.

3) Canisius, unremarkable but the color guy was pretty solid.

Special update, Lee and Oglesby were excellent Friday night. As good announcing team as I’ve heard this year, and I watch a lot of games.

I liked Oglesby and he was extremely well prepared. Really seemed to know both of the teams. And I thought he and Robert worked well as a team. I did think Ogelsby had a bit of a motor mouth and at times the demeanor of a game show host. But I quibble…

I like Oglesby, thought he and Robert made good team, Like Darling. rest of rankings wont quibble, other than Quinny announcers were far and away the worst team I have ever heard

You f I’m watching the game live, I almost always have the TV volume off and I’m listening to our radio hits; but when I rewatch the video, I really liked the Marist crew.

I’m not sure I’ve like other crews that I can remember (other than Robert Lee).

My favorite is "Smooth Williams" of Manhattan. He is always upbeat, loves basketball, and supports the players on both teams. His insights are decent as well. .........and his memorable call,..... "It's Ba-Ba-Ba-Billups!!"

Update adding last two away games. (Was to pissed off last weekend to update Manhattan sooner)

1A) Manhattan’s announcers are solid, highlighted by the very positive, well informed color guy, Smooth Williams.

2) Marist, solid not spectacular. Points for consistency and not being as blatant homers as some.

5) Mt St Mary’s, no color guy. . Man, that guy talked, a lot. Pretty well versed, but quite annoying.

7 done, 3 to go. (Rider, St Peters and Iona)

As a side note, my wife and I get a kick out of how/how long it takes each away crew to let us know that Billups has a famous cousin that he has never actually met.
