Apparently Rogers wants to play at Wichita State, but Siena will not sign a waiver for him to do so...
Statement from Siena athletics "We welcomed Colby to Siena last year through the NCAA transfer portal process. Since it was his first transfer, Colby was able to play immediately, and he had a great year at Siena. When Colby decided to transfer for the second time, he was made aware of what entering the portal meant. Siena wanted Colby to return to Siena, we don't think that signing a non-participation waiver is the right thing to do. Should the NCAA determine that Colby could play right away, that would be wonderful for him and Siena would not take issue with that outcome, but that part of the process is Colby, Wichita State, and the NCAA's responsibility, and not Siena's."

Siena is right.
Why would they lie they ran him off when they obviously did not.

Wish Colby the best. Also don’t see why we owe it to him to lie. He knew the rules.

Seems reasonable to me. This is the official criteria for a waiver.
What 'mitigating circumstance' did Wichita St provide in their request for the waiver?

What do we get out of not releasing him? A bad reputation. Kid didnt want to be here, so let him go. Do I like it? Nope, but its the monster we've created.

Either you have a one time transfer rule or you don't. But the idea that Carm/Siena should help fabricate a reason that allows Rogers to play immediately is nonsense.

After your one freebie transfer, a second waiver requires signing the No Participation Opportunity Form, which requires the departure school to certify that, among other things, the player wasn't eligible to return for reasons beyond the player's control (like for example, being run off). What do we get for lying on the No Participation Opportunity Form? Keep in mind the program is still on NCAA probation until March 2023. You can view the form and what the signer is certifying to here: ncaaorg.s3.amazonaws.com/committees/d1/clr/D1CLR_NoParticipationOpportunityForm.pdfYou would seriously sign your name on that...especially while your program is on probation? Guess which scenario results in the worse reputation.

Okay, then why are we talking about it? Kid started for us and was our leading scorer. It's obviously out of our hands.

If Siena signs this they are propagating the situation. The free transfer is bad enough. Multiple transfers is crazy and we shouldn't be helping kids to do it. I can see if he was #11 on the bench and told he would get no run. That wasn't the case. These kids need to learn a little about responsibility and commitment. Technically, we don't need to renew scholarships every year, even if a kid is a head case or doesn't pan out. Generally schools don't do that, thankfully. It is a 2-way street though. If kids are going to start bailing willy nilly then you're going to start seeing schools drop kids in the same manner.

Sounds like we explained the situation & told him he was an important player moving forward. Can’t sign off on a document that falsifies the reality of the situation. These kids need to understand the ramifications of their actions.

While I was slightly off on what school he'd ultimately end up at, I was dead right that he'd be risking a sit out year for the chance to play at a different level. LSI - Rogers Dodger

Carm has run-off a few Siena Saint players saying questionable reasons why they left.

His new school and the press in Kansas are. If you want to say Semantics that we are in fact talking about it it’s only because the other school/press brought it up first and we’re defending our schools decision. That’s how I see it.

Carm has run-off a few Siena Saint players saying questionable reasons why they left. Please list the players and provide the "questionable reasons" so we can recall the situations. Thanks.
