I just saw that Siena 23 target Damani Barley of Rochester has signed his third NIL agreement. He’s a mid major MAAC type player. Luckily he has already visits us twice at least.
I’d he can get three deals already how can Siena not have a pool or local businesses or on-line influencing platforms where we could pool $100k-$200k for kids. A starter could make an extra $15k-$20k and that would give us a great advantage

Are those with a business/indiv that want him to go to a particular school? And is there anything preventing the formerly illegal practice of an alum just giving a payout to kid to attend their school?

It seems like companies who want more athletes associated with their products. They may get paid based on Twitter shares or something but my point is it’s not just HM level athletes and we need to do something. I would run some funds through Graneys and have Siena player promote the wings and lovely atmosphere

Technically, schools are not allowed to use NIL agreements with booster or alumnis as part of recruiting. The whole system is a mess.

Of course you can’t offer a kid money but the other kids can discuss how they e making money at Siena. I have seen multiple Twitter posts last year form our kids looking for NIL Opportunities and always wondered if anyone got one

Some additional resources/content for those considering possibilities on NIL rights this off-season:
1. Siena Compliance's specific initial stance on NIL (nothing extremely noteworthy here aside from not being able to use any school logo/name in anything.) 2. Booster collectives have ostensibly blown the organizational capabilities of NIL out of the water from its original intent, but my piece on this still applies to practical applications of NIL for a school Siena's size. Even if you don't have a booster collective funding player NIL, someone involved with the program should still be able to cobble together real NIL opportunities for players and bundle them into presenting it a revenue opportunity for enterprising recruits. ( scroll halfway down for the NIL-specific content) 3. CBB Eye on CBB Podcast NIL discussion #1 - Nijel Pack at Miami getting 800K over 2 years is the main focus, but plenty of solid discussion on the topic in general. 4. CBS Eye on CBB Podcast NIL Discussion #2 - Extension of Nijel Pack discussion affecting Miami but this is a really good open discussion on the Portal and NIL. If you only want to watch one of these videos, this is the one I would watch. Interesting general D1 snapshot with coach feedback. 5. CBS Eye on CBB podcast discussion #3. Yes this is dealing with high major blue-blood situations but some salient points on the general structure of leveraging NIL opportunities as recruiting tools: Attachments:Siena NIL Rules.jfif (300.12 KB)
