This would be great, and seems a no brainer the MAAC would be involved considering the biggest hurdle involved would be the need to schedule conference games in December which the MAAC already does.

Great concept … Missed the bracket buster of old … lots of logistics to nail down … Siena needs to reserve the MVP stat …

The one thing I would point out is that this is only going to produce quality opponents if Siena is good. Based on last year Siena would have had opponents the likes of The Citadel and Stony Brook.

I'm hoping this leads to something like what college football does in division 1. 129 colleges in FBS,124 in FCS. Schedule games versus each other for a few games a year during regular season and have your own post season tournaments to determine the national championship.

SMH - Yeah, mess with the success of the most exciting post-season tournament and miss out on stories like SPU this year and others like Loyola Chicago in the past. Sad. Night & day difference between football where the big boys carry 100+ players and basketball where everybody has just 13. I'm sure you want just the big boys and their money. Flashier the better. SMH.

Wouldn't you rather see Siena have a chance to win games in the post season every year rather than once every decade or so. Plus they will be competing verse teams more at their 200 plus rating. If you're a top rated team you'll get invited to the big dance just like FCS teams are invited to top bowl games. Like I say on the golf course if you get beat like a drum, "don't get bitter get better".

I'd rather play in the tournament with the big boys and get slaughtered than play in a lesser Division II-type tournament. We are a small fish in a big pond but every year we are one of 350+ teams that are given the opportunity to win it all and as unlikely as that is or will ever be, I'm not about to support giving that up in favor of what you're suggesting.

Don't even bother. The St Peter's Elite 8 run along with Syracuse's losing record has left his trolling opportunities so diminished that he's really got to reach to come up with anything.

Yup - the greatest multi-day sporting event in this country. Give it all up to cater to big money and corporate types. SMH

Not trolling, the NCAA basketball landscape as we know it won't last much longer. We'd all love Siena to be relevant but unfortunately they haven't been relevant since Fran and what St. Peter's did this year dwarfed anything Siena or any other maac team ever did in the history of the maac.

Yeah … let’s split Div 1 into two divisions …then have two 64 March madness brackets … when they get down to final 16 or 8 - merge the brackets … now would there would need to be a Cinderella team on steroids to have any upsets?

Siena is not the point or the topic ofthis thread. You obsess and trolling in a thread TOTALLY unrelated to Siena. So transparent. You said you want to break up the tournament - the greatest multi day/week sporting event in this country.. That’s the topic here. Period. Care to retract that or still sticking by the big boys/money?
