Truth be told, he looks very good on his highlight reel but the big question is against what level of competition and how will it translate to D1 hoops?

I bought the Darwiche highlight reel at the time...gotta hope this goes better, but the level of ball in that reel looks very mediocre.

Feels like we're back to recruiting diamonds in the rough...I don't think this works.

My question is why do we have to go overseas to get a prospect like that... there are almost 400 million people in this country. For years I've been hearing how we needed transfers and jucos and overseas players to compete... how has that been working out so far?

I think most fans are skeptical because of our past experiences with foreign players. I cant remember any good ones. I do remember the two kids from England Deane bought in before his exit. Gadot, who went to St Rose and got more minutes at Siena then he did there. Darwiche is the most recent and we all know how that went. **and please dont say Eric Fluery. The 7'er that attended Guilderland HS. Not the same, and he was just okay, if that. Dwight Walton - but I get your point...

It's like recruiting Maine. ;-)

Maybe the domestic supply chain has a kink.

Very limited video, & what’s there doesn’t wow me.
This signing just kills me especially with the advent of the portal which is just starting to load up for ‘22. Total waste of a spot this early. It smacks of laziness and desperation.

A lot of good points being made by everyone. I understand the skepticism. His left hand needs some work. BUT the kid is only 17, (18 next month) and he certainly has some good attributes. In the video he was just a scorer in the lesser league but in the video of the league with the better players he became an excellent facilitator. At the least we will have our backup PG. If he continues to grow (physically and skill wise) like I think and hope he will, this might have a happy ending. (for a nice change) We know he can be aggressive, go to the hoop and finish. Let's see if he can do it against athletic defenders.

Ho Hum. Underwhelming Stats. Those stats need context because we don't know what his role was on the FIBA U18 team. For Anadolu Efes he was an alpha male averaging 17 ppg.

Seems you spun this yarn before …. See all things Darwiche. Fact of the matter this kid would have been available in the summer, no need to take him this early. Bad move!
