Gotta luv Coach Carm's positive, can do attitude that that he has brought back to the program. Players come to Siena because they want to be part of a winning program. He is focused on the total student athlete experience and is about giving back to the local community too. Good Stuff.

Next three games all on the road: 1/14 @ Marist 1/21 @ Manhattan 1/25 @ Iona2-1 would be tremendous. Need to win at least one of them at minimum. Then we come home for four straight: 1/28 vs. Niagara 1/30 vs. Quinnipiac 2/1 vs. Canisius 2/4 vs. Rider5-2 would be nice overall.

Here are the numbers using the Sagarin Recency rating that puts a higher weight on the more recent games:
Iona - 51 Monmouth - 119 Siena - 159 Niagara - 174 Manhattan - 222 Quinnipiac - 223 Marist - 226 Canisius - 248 Fairfield - 254 St Peter's - 256 Rider - 296
Do we still have holdouts that think Siena isn't talented enough to finish 3rd and needs to play great to beat anyone not in the top two? Iona and Monmouth are the only two we need to play great to beat, everyone else we can beat with a good performance and I still maintain we should beat most of them by double digits at home.

Pomeroy
Iona 93 Monmouth 112 The rest of league 194-291.
Siena checks in at 277 today. So top 3 is definitely doable.

Yes I know we had a GREAT comeback, but its funny how everyone is forgetting the first 27 min of the game. It was as bad as the first couple games. So how did we come back down 17 with 12 min to go? We play a zone defense for the first time in 3 years. The shocking move caught them off guard and we took advantage of it. It was a Hail Mary move by Carm that paid off, but.....it doesnt erase the issues we had for 27 min playing man to man. Im not confident that McCollum can help us this year. He's physically limited. Im no fan of Johnson and hope we dont need to play him. Baer suddenly became servicable as the middle piece in that 1-3-1 defense. He did a real nice job defensively and even had a nice basket on a tough layup. I said we needed to play great to beat Marist. Ive seen them play a couple times including both of their Iona games. They have more talent than we do. My prediction looked pretty accurate for 27 minutes and then Carm used his last lifeline, and Im glad it worked. We played GREAT the last 13 minutes, and we NEEDED TO to win the game.

Hard to say- Yeah you can say we played lousy the first 27 min vs Marist- but law of averages kicked in, we were missing wide open shots and everything Marist threw up went in. I think we can definitely finish top 3 or 4, but I'd say its far from lock. I dont think we have enough talent to just show up play so-so and beat any team in bottom 8 in MAAC- we have too many holes in our lineup. Agree on McCollum, kid has potential, and I'm sure games this year he will help us as well as games he disappears. Probably year away. Baer looked much better in zone. On positive side Billups is getting better every game. We need more consistent pay out of Gaines. If he stays within himself and the offense, he can be very effective in MAAC. Any injuries to any of our key players could be devastating. I guess bottom line can we finish in top 3 or 4 yes-- also can finish anywhere from 5 to 8th. We are far from lock for top 3 or 4 finish
