I wish he had actually scored on the play. I guess I am old school because I am getting tired of it guys trying to make sports center rather than a lay up. Our margin for error is pretty slim this year. I would hate to lose a game because one of our players missed a break away because of show boating.

Fairfield's bench applauded their team's offensive play and their defensive stops . Their noise dominated the silent arena through out the game. Gaines making the dunk might have demoralized the Stags.

Papa is grumpy because kenpom has his SU team projected to be in the bottom level of the ACC and the ACC is in the bottom level of the Power 6 conferences. Syracuse is playing more like a decent mid major than a power conference team. Nothing to praise in Orangeland so he has to up the trolling in Sienaville. ;-) Things are not going well in Syracuse, losing close game after close game. Has to be coaching. Pomeroy. Syracuse 71 7-8 Siena 287 5-6 The Boeheim zone isn't working this year, or at least this group of the players can't implement it. The Kenpom defensive rating is way off from previous year's standard. That could be the reason for those close losses. Failure to make critical stops. Unless they shore up the D, Syracuse is looking at .500 or less this year.

I don't understand why Syracuse comes up when I make a comment about the poor Pomeroy number? By the way FF went from 183 to 193. Good news is that Siena can beat the 4 teams they've played so far. TBD how they stack up against the other six.

Life will go in Sienaville as well. I'm guessing a mid-pack finish for Siena. It would be nice if something better were to happen, but that is the ceiling I see at this point. Keep improving and be set to be a spoiler in the tournament.

Keep improving and be set to be a spoiler in the tournament. I don't see why, Siena is every bit as talented as everyone in the league but Monmouth and Iona. I think they have a great shot at 3rd and will be disappointed if they don't get top 5. Winning at Marist would be a big step in that direction. If you go by the Sagarin recent rating Siena is #199, Marist is 3rd in the MAAC at #174.

A win at Marist would certainly improve the possibility of making 5th a reasonable goal with the possibility of something better. Without Platek, Owen and possibly McCollum ? going forward it is difficult to predict what will happen. That additional depth would have gone a long way to feel more optimistic.
