We’re on the board in 2022… JUCO wing Taelon Martin just committed last night.
Like this get. From Springfield originally. Was tracking to be a big time recruit with high major offers, then interest started to fade and grade issues so he went D3 to play for Jim Calhoun at St Joseph’s in CT for a year. Left during the pandemic to go to JUCO at College of Southern Idaho, which is one of the top 10-15 teams in JUCO. Hes their leading scorer and is shooting 39% from 3.
Athletic scoring guard shooting it efficiently who will come in older (21?) and have multiple years to play is a take every time. And with Rogers, Platek and Billups expected back he doesn’t need to be a star.

CSI website says he had offers from Syracuse, UConn, Marquette, VaTech, Penn State, Pitt and Rutgers, among others, while in HS.

And former 6-10 target, Tegra Izzy, of DC is leaving LaSalle. Looks like type of athletic big man we could use but I have not seen any video
Glad to see us grab a kid

Do we really need him with Platek back next year and Owens ready to go? That’s in addition to Rogers and Billups and Carp (who I assume play play more and more off the ball as McCollum develops)? I kid….just messing with you. Lol

If Jim Calhoun says this kid is good, then I'm glad to get him.

I think the answer to your own question can be a clue, but not in the way you intended it. If Platek relied on his athleticism for his success, having a serious Achilles injury may be a much bigger obstacle than if he relies on savvy, high bb IQ and skill. I think the fact that Platek is in that latter category gives me confidence that a repaired Achilles won’t have much effect on his skill, savvy and IQ.

Any idea how many years of eligibility he will have? Believe he has two to play. He doesn’t get that extra COVID year? I see he played at least two years (unless he’s actually played three already). Thought he might qualify for 3 (unless this was that only COVID year). Too hard for me to keep track or care more about it (the extra year of eligibility change).

He played in 2019-20 and then this year. Last year, no games. So no COVID year.
