When Platek can play and everyone is healthy, I see us at 2 deep in every position: 1: McCollum, Carpenter 2: Platek, Hopkins 3: Rogers, Billups 4: Gaines, Johnson 5: Stormo, Baer Honestly, that doesn’t look bad to me. Kellier can try to steal some minutes from Johnson and Baer. 2 deep of shit...

The 2nd string at each position is a notable drop-off from the starters as listed. They are workable but if we have 2 or 3 bench guys in at a time it will be noticeable. It does give us some depth to run...and run I would. I would make it a goal to cross the half-court line in 3 seconds and push the pace. Sure, if we run into Arkansas or the like we'll get smoked but they aren't on the schedule.

Happy for Andrew! Hoping he gets to round out his career on a positive note and I believe he’ll help our group significantly.
And, as I’ve mentioned on this board, he’s been in practice so the adjustment won’t be quite so big.

I'm just going to say....at least give them till the Manhattan and St Peters game and even the American game to see who all is playing and a chance to find the proper mix.

Platek brings experience and hopefully some leadership that this team currently lacks. He’s not a solution but rather a part of the puzzle.
I’d think Carm needs to go with experience Hopkins can handle the ball shoot and is a good defender…. Get McCollum and Billiups as many as minutes as possible to get them up to speed.
Off the rip I’d go with (four potential decent scorers): Hopkins Rogers Platek Gaines Stormo
Off the bench McCollum Billups Johnson Baer
We need to take good looks (no bad threes, move without the ball). Forget taking a shot in the first 12 seconds, have to walk before you can run!

This is great news and I think he can make a big impact. Does it solve all the issues? No. Would we have lost the first 3 games by 20 points? No. Looking forward to how he impacts the team and how the others improve.

Please dont stat him Carm. Kid is walking into a tough spot. Some will think he's a savior. He does need to be one of our top 3 players, but lets ease him into the historical right start he finally gets to be apart of!

He does need to be one of our top 3 players, but lets ease him into the historical right start he finally gets to be apart of! Serious question! Not trying to start anything here….trying to follow your logic. Four years at NC in the ACC playing for arguably one of the top tier college coaches in the game, plus he’s been working out with the team since Oct. I think he’s tough enough to handle the limelight of a MAAC program at this juncture of his career. In another post you wanted to go with McCollum and throw him to wolves or fire. If there’s a player you want to protect, not ruin and ease into the flow it’s McCollum. He’s a freshman, barely practiced, is undersized & coming off a concussion. Besides we have Hopkins who imo should be getting more run than he’s been seeing. No need saving Platek for good. He’s only here for a year. I don’t think anyone expects him to be a savior but let’s see what he can bring. This team is currently a mess, go with experience.
