Jeff Goodman has Carm as one of 4 head coaches being mentioned for the Fordham job. Holloway (St, Peters), Grasso (Bryant) and Becker (UVM) the other 3. A few high major assistants also said to be in the mix.
I guess this was bound to happen. Always does when we have any kind of success. I fell pretty confident Carm doesnt leave Siena for that crappy job, even though its more money and in the A-10.

Was Digger Phelps the last successful coach? And that was 50 years ago. He was called Digger because he really did work in a graveyard at one point.

If Carm leaves after two years I’d be shocked. It’s also a sign maybe Siena isn’t committed to D1 basketball. No chance on Fordham though an absolute killer. Siena will have to pay Carm though and with zero attendance this offseason that will be tough.

You're right about his father and Rider, but the way I remember the story was that during the summer he dug graves ...which makes sense given his father's connection. Why call him Digger if all he did was hang around the funeral home telling people how sorry he was for their loss?

Right if they really want him they can get him. Love Carm don’t see him getting a power job that fast but who the hell knows. But Siena needs to lock out anything but a BCS program/Power 6 job. Carm has proven enough to me. Siena needs to get off the coaching carousel for a while. I’d give Carm a 5 year $500K guaranteed deal with some easily reached incentives. Carm is not JC he’s not going to run for any job but you have to compensate him. They will have to get creative in a year with no attendance.

Fordham needs to move back to the MAAC, seriously.
Maybe the A10 gets rid of Fordham and adds Siena, lol.

Number being floated they are willing to pay is $900K. Guessing that would be for a pretty experienced, successful head coach.

I’d be shocked if Carm left Siena for Fordham. IMO, Carm wants to stay at Siena and help them achieve the greatness the program should be at. Carm’s not necessarily in it got the money, at this stage in his career, IMO.
