Blue Ribbon picks Siena to win the MAAC. Jalen is first team and POY and Manny is first team. Dana is Newcomer of the Year. Both the backcourt and the frontcourt are rated best in the MAAC.

That’s really impressive! Are the Saints that good, the rest of the MAAC that bad, too many questions about the rest of the league, or some combination of those? Wouldn’t bother me in the least, though, if the Saints are just that good. Hope they have the chance to prove it on the court.

I’m hoping that we’re that good; so we can be the first MAAC men’s team to reach the Sweet 16. 🙂

But we are not without question marks. We have best player in conference and maybe 2nd best player. Amazing how Siena under Jamion and Carm ( mainly Carm) Siena has loaded up the talent- after going 9 years with two coaches that had trouble assembling talent. Fun time to be Siena fan. As for rest of MAAC- a lot of question marks-most of the ALL MAAC team from last year either graduated or transferred out. Iona has a HOF coach, but basically all new team and style. At end of day I expect Gals to be our main competition. But MAAC is a big time question mark after the Saints. Going into season you have to love how strong the Siena program is-- back where we belong !! Thank you coach Carm!! Blue Ribbon picks: 1-Siena 2-Monmouth 3-St. Peter's 4-Niagara 5-Manhattan 6-Iona 7-Fairfield 8-Canisius 9-Quinnipiac 10-Rider 11-Marist

I think we have to think about this at 2 levels, Maac league and also tournament. Monmouth, league competition. Iona tournament based on coach. He will have had time to put a team together, and has had vast experience coaching in tournament play. As one of our pundits likes to end his/her thoughts, just saying!

I was a little concerned about our inside depth/size. Getting Curry and Stormo eligible was a pleasant surprise and rounds out the team nicely.
