This is just a way to get the midmajors out before the field of 64. No more auto bids so the ACC can get 16 of the 64.

they already do this now.........essentially, each conference tournament is an extension of the NCAA big event..........win that and you advance (or are IN).............but then again, no need to invite everyone, just up the bracket to 96 teams (and kill the NIT be grabbing those teams as well since they were the last ones out anyway), this way EVERY team that wins the REGULAR season gets the auto bid, then hold the conference tourney for a potential other bid.................

Every D1 team making the tournament is a joke takes the accomplishment away and makes the regular season meaningless. If they want to make up from the lost revenue for the 2020 tournament go to 96 teams for one season and don’t play the NIT.
