If Pope wants to RS Almonor why would he sign @ Kentucky? He has 1 year of eligibility and is a senior. He’ll most likely make more in a Euro hoop league than an additional NIL year when moves on. It makes no sense.

It makes no sense. Must figure 2 years getting $100K is better than 1. Sounds like a sweet deal for him. Well if the $200k comes with a guarantee / buyout fine, but somehow I doubt Ky will be on the hook for 2 seasons. If Pope struggles year 1 he may need to reallocate the scholarship in year 2 out of desperation. Those Cat boosters won’t pay or allow for a 500 ish mid pack SEC season. Good luck selling AA to the NIL donors after a unsuccessful season. Those fans are over the top and won’t take kindly to mediocre season. Plus I would think AA can top $100k in a mid pack Euro league. Seems like a RS is a load of BS. Guess we’ll see if he bites. |

Personal observation…
In searching X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and other social media platforms over the last few weeks for news on Siena’s recruiting endeavors, I have come to two unmistakable conclusions:
1.) GMac and his staff have been relentless in their recruiting efforts, leaving no stone unturned to bring new talent to Loudonville; and
2.) there is a remarkably large number of porn stars, sex workers, and Onlyfans cam girls who are named Siena.

Is Jakai Sanders still in the mix? Verbal Commits has not changed his status. I know he dealt with Carm, but still liked Siena.

If he cared as much about his players as he repeatedly told us, he wouldn't have done that. Nobody had any idea where we'd be at this point. The only good advice would be to "wait and see and make an assessment once you know who they bring in." It's too bad. I had high hopes for Carm. |

Sounds like the Iona fans when they secured the next Coach K last year, then finished sub .500 So I agree we shouldnt be too optimistic, UNLESS we hit 2 HR's with these last 2 schollies. |

Well Coach K had mediocre records for his first three years at Duke. If he started out in today's environment he probably would have been canned after the third year. ;-)
But I agree the last two have to be very good All MAAC type players to guarantee anything. I would however guarantee that McNamara's team will win more than 4 games and return Siena to "respectability" in his first year even if he doesn't kill it with the last two. Given who he has brought in to date I'm confident he will not be shut out on the last two.
