Brett McMurphy of ESPN reporting C7 schools are getting Big East name. He is also reporting their departures will be next fall.
Jeff Goodman from CBS reporting they will only go to 9 with Butler and Xavier.

And to add another reporters info Dan Wetzel from Yahoo Sports says it is Butler Dayton Xavier and St Louis. He also adds to his tweet that if it were up to him Siena over Creighton for the last spot.

I have read that Omaha is too far west for some in the C7, although it isn't that much further west than St. Louis. I'd be more concerned about Richmond than Creighton for geographical reasons. Also, if the twelfth school were Creighton, that would mean one fewer opening in the A10.

The only thing I’ll say is if the 12th school is Creighton--- and Butler- Xavier and Dayton are gone from the A10- absolutely no reason for St Louis to stay in A10..with Creighton leaving Vallley St Louis would be perfect choice to replace them -- which would still make for another opening in a10

NEW BIG EAST 2014-15 (12 teams per ESPN)
Butler
Creighton
Dayton
DePaul
Georgetown
Marquette
Providence
Seton Hall
St. John’s
St. Louis
Villanova
Xavier
which puts A10 down to 10 teams.. But Umass is still shaky as they look likely for big east football
A10 in 2014 Umass URI Bonnies Duquense LaSalle St Joes Fordham VCU Richmond GW

I guess that's it for Siena, it was fun while it lasted. Hopefully Siena was never really considered for the Big East and it wasn't the Admin's decision not to join. Perhaps there is still hope to join the A-10.

Perhaps there is still hope to join the A-10. going to be tough..A10 is down to 10 schools... they could stay at 10 or pull a MAAC and go to 11..and George Mason I'm sure would be #1 pick. Still too early to tell, but there is a chance Siena misses the entire conference realignment courtesy of program wrecker

That is my fear too. It's not all Mitch's fault though (When is it ever?) Most of the blame would be on the admin for not recognizing this situation and cutting Mitch loose at a minimum after the first semester when everyone but himself knew that the season was over. At least then it would have been known that Siena was serious about putting a quality product on the floor. Really though it needed to be done after year 1 when the wrecker couldn't win with three all maac NCAA tourney players on his roster.

I think you're all jumping the gun. The reports aren't all in. ESPN just reported it is only 9 teams for next year(Catholic 7 plus Xavier and Butler), with those 2 paying $2 million each to leave A-10.

Hopefully St. Louis goes back to the MVC and/or UMass bolts for football. I have to think the A10 will look to add. Should be interesting if the next few months we might know if Siena will get an A10 invite. I don't think the C-7 was really ever a serious option with or without the last three years.

UMass is a big question mark.
The Faculty Senate there already voiced their displeasure about the rising costs of moving from FCS to FBS Football and took a vote to call their administration to take them back down after 1 year. The vote came up 1 vote short.
Not sure they will really be looking to invest more money in football.
