Was anyone able to participate? I had a conflict. Any news forthcoming? School will begin in mid-August, and the semester will end at Thanksgiving. Second semester won't start until mid-January. Carm mentioned that he thinks he has final agreement for a series with a CAA team starting this season. He identified the school, but asked that it not be posted anywhere until final details are in place. John D'Arg said that people from school and at the TUC are working on plans for physical-distancing at the arena. That would include opening all of the second level seating areas. He said that it looks like the maximum number of people that could be accommodated in a physical-distancing arrangement is somewhere between 3,000-4,000. They are working on who would get priority in terms of being seated in or as close as possible to their regular seats. Carm said that he doesn't anticipate any changes in the team's travel arrangements for away games. He expects to travel to most games the day before a game day, as has been the usual practice, and says that hotels will likely be very safe places to stay, so he doesn't think travel will be a problem at all. That may change, but that's his thinking at this point. Fr. Mark said that Dr. Gibson will take office as the next president on July 1, but make not be officially installed until next spring. He said that, if we recall (I didn't), Br. Ed wasn't officially inaugurated until fourteen months after he took office as president. Someone asked Carm about pressing on defense. He said that he expects to do some of that, but not as a regular tactic. He may pressure the opposing team's point guard full-court some, but he much prefers to have his guys getting back and playing defense as one unit. He doesn't want to give up open 3s because of a breakdown in pressuring full-court. There was some other discussion, but nothing particularly newsworthy. If anybody has a question, I can try to recall what else may have been said. I will say, though, that the more you listen to Carm talk about the program, and all aspects of it, the more you have to be convinced that he going to be an outstanding coach at Siena. He has a handle on everything, and has a well thought-out reason for everything relevant to the program.

Great reason not to press. Finally a coach who understands that 3 > 2.
He may discover that the length we have at the 1-3 positions may allow him to be effective pressing...if we have the speed too.

They should start the season in August too and play the conference games. That way they are in before this blows up again.

Well if Carm is right about the semester ending at Thanksgiving, Tate would be eligible for the Orlando tourney. He'd only miss a few games in early Nov.
And my guess for the CAA team is Northeastern, with Hofstra a distant 2nd.

And it’s not going to “blow up” again. It’s not March 12. We are much more prepared to deal with it (i.e. protect vulnerable and nursing homes) I do appreciate the information. Hopefully they can go to 6K don’t see why that can’t happen in a 15K arena. People who have concerns should watch on TV.

Pretty sure he said it starts at the TUC. Apologize for not being absolutely sure, but I had to deal with something at that point during the session, and wasn’t paying complete attention.

I don’t know if he was being facetious or not, but Carm said he is hoping that Tate may be able to take his semester finals early, and get his grades finalized, so he will be able to play games sooner.

Having Tate available in Orlando would certainly help our chances of pulling an upset.
