Just to see Siena mentioned in articles again is a welcome sight.

A 13 seed huh? A lot has to go right for that. Some of which is even beyond our control.
However, I read once that Jesus was a Carpenter. So maybe we got that going for us.

Have to replace Burns but if we did not blow the Yale, Cal Poly and Harvard games we were very likely a 13 last year had we got to finish the tournament out.

Siena was a 13 twice under Fran. Once they were 59th ranked in Kenpom and other time 93rd. I'm not sure Siena gets into the top 100 even with those wins.

a 13 is certainly possible ( although not probable) just need at least 1 win ( against top teams) in Orlando and hold our own in other games-- wins lots of games and no 'stinker' losses to teams ranked +250..some of it is out of control-- like how strong or weak the MAAC is-- but bottom line, its been too long I dont care what our seed is, just wanna make the dance

I don't think they'll be as good without Bruner. He was a force for them. Bruner averaged 10.9 PPG, 9.2 rpg, 3.8 apg, 1 spg, 1.7 bpg. Plus they need to replace their PG Monroe as well....so they lost 8.1 apg between the 2 of them. Having a forward like Bruner was a big crutch they could lean on. They still got Atkinson but he's not Bruner and certainly not like having them both together.

We need to win every home game period, come away with a win in Orlando, and hold our own on the road especially in MAAC play where we can't afford any bad losses. A 13 seed creates a far more favorable matchup but even a 14 is light years better than a 15 or 16. Lot of work to be done to get there.

I agree that a win in Orlando or at St. Louis would help our seed. When we were a 13 in 2008 and drilled Vandy, our biggest wins of the season were probably Stanford at home and at Boise State. We lost five games in the MAAC, including getting pasted by 29 at Loyola.
In 2008-09, we went 0-3 in Orlando, played tough at Kansas, beat Northern Iowa in the Bracket Buster, went 16-2 in the MAAC and got a ninth seed.
The following year, we received another 13 seed without any signature wins (losses to Temple, St. John’s, Georgia Tech, Northern Iowa and Butler) but a 17-1 conference record.
An “up” win is not absolutely necessary based on past history, although the 2009 win over Ohio State in Dayton probably helped the 2010 seed, but I do think a big November win would help the cause greatly.
