With all the options for play and evaluation I don't see why a professional organization like the nba would need to see jalen at a "higher level" in order to decide. That just seems ridiculous to me. Now, I totally get why a player would "think" that or why a parent would think that. Not sure I agree. I get that there’s ways to evaluate, but I would think that if you actually DO play and perform with the big dogs, your stock goes up cuz you’ve shown you are playing in a competitive level over the course of a season with guys who are DEFINITELY going to be in the big time. Just like how we think of HS recruits. We give more credence to kids who have played HS in a better league.

Maybe you guys do and cookie cutter recruiting sites, but truly talented college coaches can spot good recruits from wherever, and especially once you get to the nba level those scouts have a whole array of data to choose from and I doubt it matters much what level they are at. I'd like to see a quote from an actual nba scout saying they tell college kids they need to transfer to a higher level school so they can judge them better the following year. Again that doesn't sound right to me.

Again that doesn't sound right to me. I tend to agree more with Gorvy than Scott on this one. Sure Jalen could leave if he wanted & had his reasons. But, I haven’t seen/read anything that implies he has the slightest intention of leaving Siena (other to maybe be drafted or play in NBA). As for NBA scouts/personnel suggestion they need to see Jalen play at a higher level in order to better evaluate him for NBA; well maybe those scouts/personnel aren’t as good at their jobs as others. Scouts should be able to identify talent regardless of competition. Not saying it won’t happen but really don’t see it happening that way. Jalen is so grounded and his family is great and they love him at Siena, I really don’t see him leaving Siena before he graduates but that’s JMO.

One other thing that folks haven't mentioned - moving to a higher level will not necessarily guarantee him the minutes/exposure that a senior year at Siena will likely produce - as a sit one/play one transfer he'd run the serious risk of being recruited over - maybe more of a shot as a graduate transfer but moving both up and into a starting role might be a stretch...let's get him through a very successful (read that - NCAA bid and a 2nd round game at the least) Junior year and then we can debate his options going forward...
