Can players be allowed on campus without taking classes? Are their scholarships in effect to cover the expense of having them on campus if they aren't students participating in classes? When do the other athletes involved in fall sports return to campus? That would add a bunch more than just men's basketball players. Was that a requirement in the past? Were all players who participating in workouts attending classes? I just don't know. And, if so, I could see exceptions being allowed this year. Yeah, I don’t know either. That’s why I was asking the questions.

I believe returning team members can be on campus and working out together (the NCAA controls hours, numbers in groups etc. to some degree during the "old" summers). As for incoming freshman and transfers, the NCAA requires them to be enrolled students before working out with their new teammates. They would all enroll in summer classes, become immediately practice eligible and then start the practice routines. The summer classes also benefit them by giving them an early taste of college academics along with early credits to allow a more relaxed load during the basketball season. I have no idea if those old rules apply in the new environment but I would guess they do....

Clarify your thoughts Scott. ie.' How they could ruin the Fall for everyone"? I'll bite. Read the news and you'll see that two hair stylists exposed 150 people alone. A massive pool party in Missouri could have untold consequences in the next few weeks. If on campus activities in the fall doesn't work there could be widespread infection rates. Sports with fans would be cancelled and possibly stopped altogether. Grandma could die, and kids may get mysterious lung diseases. Left unchecked a new lockdown could ensue causing additional widespread unemployment, only this time without income protection. That would ruin the fall for everyone! Or, none of this could occur, people obey social distancing guidelines, the vaccine is successful and everybody moves on with their lives.

If colleges don’t open in September many will NEVER come back. That’s the end.

You may be right. But I heard the Gov use the words all sports teams. I’m sure the Coach will get a opinion from on high. Other leagues are apt to raid us if we have to wait. I’M sure we will run a safe and secure month of intense work. Raid us for what?

I was wondering if some athletes will choose to take a red shirt year so that they can play where there are live classes.... and if ncaa will relax transfer rules and eligibility rules as a result.

Clarify your thoughts Scott. ie.' How they could ruin the Fall for everyone"? I'm hopeful that everything will go back to normal and it will be great but terrified that everyone is going to go crazy now that they can get out again and it is just going to lead to a much stricter lockdown in the fall.

The American people will not tolerate another lockdown. You will have the second civil war.
