Curry’s matriculation to Siena became official yesterday. See Sienasaints.com. Eligibility awaits the waiver process.

What happens if he doesnt get waiver? Do we still honor the scholarship? Taking this 6'8" Canadian kid so late makes me think the two two could be related....

If he doesn’t get the waiver his career is over, they wouldn’t have him sit in his sixth year of college and play in his seventh. And if his career is over we can honor the scholarship for his MBA but still have a spot, he wouldn’t count against the limit. It would just hurt because we wouldn’t have time to replace him. I’m not overly worried, he should get the waiver. Canadian kid on tape looks more like Ratliff did in HS than a real bitch

Thats why the Canadian kid commit this late seems like its insurance IF the waiver doesnt come thru. I dont like that trade at all, but they seem to be aligned with each other. I hoping he's a 4 year walk on and then maybe they give the scholarship to Arrington, who is paying his own way this year? Smart thing to do would be to keep it open for another midseason transfer, but lets hope Curry gets the waiver. We certainly need him for the first 7/8 games until Tate is eligible.

Maybe but I’m not sure it was as much as insurance if he can play because Lazar is more of a SF than PF. I’m hoping that he will eventually be able to play multiple position (3-5) when he gets up to D1 speed. I really don’t see Siena taking a grad transfer unless they’re very confident he will receive his waiver. Of course I also wouldn’t be surprise if ncaa didn’t grant it because they don’t seem to do Siena many favors in that regard. We’ll see what happens but I don’t think Lazar is insurance, in case of anything. He’s probably a good Enough recruit that didn’t cost a scholarship.

I think it would depend on when the waiver decision actually gets made. Curry probably isn’t staying if we find out tomorrow he can’t play. But if we find out in October, I think the school does the right thing and honors the spot. Like I said I don’t think the Canadian has any tie to the situation with Curry. My guess is what would happen if we found out soon that Curry couldn’t play was we’d ask Pepperdine to sign off on a run-off waiver for Stormo... given how little he played and that they are now full on scholarships, they’d probably do it. Then you get an insurance big man in there. Or you just roll with the freshmen because they really like Golson and BK.

Would Siena put him on the roster if he did not get the waiver? There has not been an official announcement on the matter- when it's official, I'll stop bumping and checking the clock.
