Nice numbers. Yeah he’s been busy with admirers: Lipscomb, Wyoming, Missouri State, Central Michigan. SIU, William & Mary, Milwaukee, NIU, Toledo, Oregon St. We might be late to the party.

I said RATE. Burns 25.7 minutes per game, Rossiter 37.4 minutes per game. In similar minutes he would have at best probably equaled those guys' numbers, not exceeded them. And all were vastly better defenders/rebounders than Burns, so you have to factor that into their comparative impact factor. Like I said, he doesn't exceed any of those guys no matter how you equalize "rate". The math says he scores at a higher rate, so I don’t know why you assume he would “at best” equal those guys if he played similar minutes. We can agree to disagree on this topic, I guess. I do agree the other three were better defenders/rebounders overall (except Ogunyemi on rebounding). None of them were nearly as athletic.

Yes we need another big to fill the middle. Here are the reasons: costly injury as mentioned already, foul trouble, having a rim protector, practice sparing partner, one that can be developed aka Rossiter like for following years. We need a big body to complement Camper to box out opponent's big to control the boards With that said, is BK ready to play the 5 with Denzel and Tate. Again, another big 5 would be a finishing piece for a solid all round team.

To me, it is basic math. Siena will be one of the favorites to win the league next year, but every team has a weakness.
Is it Siena's size? Will Iona's new players be too big for Siena current roster to handle?
If the answer is yes, then go find a ready to play big guy.

I think at the very least we need a Bayer/Hein type grad transfer type that gives us one more body, preferably a big and preferably much better than those two. I don't want to waste any scholarships on a freshman that is a step below Golson and BK but am fine with wasting one to add an extra body for the season in a grad transfer. Other scholarship would ideally be left open for mid season transfers unless there is a no brainer kid that decides he wants to come last minute or a sit out transfer we decide is worth taking on.

If we take a sit out transfer I would want it to be a current sophomore that lands in the same class as current freshmen and provides some class balance. I agree grad transfer is best way to go and sit out better be capable of 20 minutes a game when eligible otherwise save it

I'm really torn on what to do with this team at center. I've wanted a shotblocker for god knows how long. You are never going to find a shotblocker who plays offense like Burns at this level though. There will be a tradeoff.
Any player you bring in now could sort upset the chemistry...so he better be worth it.
I'm sort of intrigued by being versatile at the center with Tate, Young, BK, and Golson. I feel like we have a lot of things with that group....but still no real shotblocker. I guess, unless you upgrade over Young (a guy who can rebound as well or better) who can still score or get a shotbocker which we don't have...you're probably not really adding something we don't already have.
3 of those guys are adaptable and athletic enough in the lane to do well in the Pickett and Roll. And Young has maybe not the athleticism but has the IQ and now experience for it....plus he brings rebounding and a tough style.
I don't know. I kinda want to see what this crew can do. Adding more takes away their minutes....but could upgrade...so it's kind of a conundrum.
Playing small at the 5 but still being able to rebound with 5 big athletic guards would give Siena a look that no other team will have. And you'd have different looks to go with that. It's kind of intriguing in its own right.
Tate's best position in in the MAAC is probably the 4 or 5. If Camper's the 4 (he's still more athletic) and Carpenter is great.....then that only leaves one position for Tate.
But, like HJ said, if Young got hurt....you'd be really hurting for a true center....and you want the depth.

what is Golson's current height? I thought someone said he had grown an inch or two Golson is alternatively listed at 6'6 or 6'7 depending on where you look. The hope is since he was probably 17 or 18 the last time he was measured that he grows another inch or 2 like Camper did.
