Don't know if you'd be surprised about this or not, but LOTS of fans around the country complain about the lack of student support their schools get/don't get at games. Some schools seemingly get big-time student support from what you can see on TV, but when the student population is 30,000/35,000/40,000 plus, it's not surprising that most of those schools seem to have big student sections. So even if 3,000 students from one of those big schools show up, it's still only a small percentage of the overall student population. If that many Siena students showed up for a game, there wouldn't be anybody left on campus, and that's never going to happen. Siena is consistently in the Top 100 schools in attendance every year, which is pretty amazing given the size of the school, and it's not because of how many students show up. Yes, there are many older Saints fans, but I don't why that seems to bother some people on here. Many of us have supported this program for most of our lives, both at home and on the road, and have put our money where our school spirit is. Sorry if that isn't enough for some of you.

A fanbase that does not sit on their hands most of the time, but one that cheers all game, every game. Games are starting to look like an AARP convention. Time to start handing out Geritol before every game? The fanbase needs to get younger. Not sure how old you are but those fans you are criticizing are the ones that go on the road and support their team as long as there is a bus to get them there. So you tell me who is the bigger fan- the ones that don’t make a lot of noise,( with the exception of Hankla-lol)) but travel anywhere to support their team or the ones who make a lot of noise when they get to their 6 or 7 homes games a year. I for one want to thank the “old toasters” for supporting the program they truly love.

But the loyal multiple decade fan is certainly not the problem. I’m sure many of them are also generous boosters of the program. I know you’re a fan and I’m sure you’ll still be one when it’s Geritol time. Go Saints!

I think more students show up than it seems, but the seating arrangement for them doesn't encourage them all to sit together. Behind the hoop on the floor doesn't seem popular, and the stands in the endzone are pretty far away from the game so a lot seem to go find better seats (who can blame them). I'd like to see a creative way to get them all to sit together and closer to the action to get them more involved.
They have the 21 club which seems to work getting seniors to games, hopefully they expand that to more games or start something new for underclassmen.

That could be an interesting investment phillyfan,could you imagine! GO SAINTS!! I haven't looked into the investment side yet, but all I can say is that I had my human cells reprogrammed back to a youthful state and it seemed to work. I'm class of '69 and I get carded every time I try to get into a bar!:}}

There used to be a bigger student presence... whether it's the seating arrangement or not something should be figured out. When they solve that problem then start working on the food

Creighton and Georgetown play in area as more than four miles from campus. Creighton especially seems able to attract students to their games. Perhaps the AD should call and find out how they di it.

Completely understand and appreciate the long time fans and season tickets holders. I am not questioning anyone's loyalty to the program, as I have had seaons tickets for almost 30 years. The issue I brought up is the lack of noise and enthusiasm by the aging fan base. Saints games typically are the most quiet of any 5000 - 7000 fan games I have ever attended. Really pathetic sometimes how quite the TU is. Most just sitting there in silence the entire game. That in my opinion falls on the fans and as stated I would like to see a more enthusiastic fan environment next year.

The ones I have been on the Siena fans are loud as hell! Having enthusiastic fans sitting all together encourages crowd participation. And the away "gyms" are so much smaller that your sound isn't eaten up like in our cavernous TU Center. Seniors Rock! 😎

If you want louder more enthusiastic fans, you need the blue collar beer drinking younger crowd. Siena alumni and season ticket holders are mostly white collar laid back and elderly, not that that's bad but it is what it is. The community not alumni need to get involved, and getting people to come to the TUC from the hilltowns isn't that easy unless it's a country concert or WWE. Make it an event and they will come. The Empire knew how to get people there and get loud.

Here is an idea, how about having the cheerleaders start leading cheers. Add some Male cheerleaders. Spread them around the arena and lead the cheers. This way the fans can follow the cheers and JOIN in. Presently the chairleaders just go on the court and do some dance routes, that is nice, but doesn't result in the fans wanting to get up and cheer. How about having cheers being presented on the scoreboard monitors or on the electronic ribbon around the arena. Remember we had the Siena Flags, bring them back. We need a more active mascot. The St. Benard should be barking and more visible. How about getting sponsors to provide green and gold items to wave during the game. Does the forum have any other ideas?

Another 14-0 at the TUC is what I'd like to see!

Also, the student band doesn't seem to get enough opportunities to stir things up. Might help to keep everyone in the mix throughout the game.

Another 14-0 at the TUC is what I'd like to see! I think we have to settle for 13-0 instead as I believe that is where we will stand with the schedule next yr providing we can fill the last few needed home games...........that means we are playing 18 away from Albany of our 31 games....................but that would be terrific if we could somehow get another clean home slate again and bring that streak up to 27...............
