Just read this... The NCAA still hasn’t ruled on Pitino and the latest Louisville scandal that led to his dismissal, so it’s uncertain if he would face any discipline upon returning to the sport. If Patsos got 3 year show cause order for what he did, what does Pitino get for what went on at Louisville? Or does the NCAA let it slide because its Pitino? Time served...

The MAAC profile just got a lot bigger. It will be recruit or die. St. Peter's may finally see a sellout at Yanitelli with what Holloway has done there and Pitino coming in.

Actually some wanted to hire him and some didn’t and Brother Ed, the deciding factor, said no. I don’t think it was about salary as he just was looking for a landing spot to restart his career. I thought it was about salary? No. You don’t attempt to dump your existing coach for “cause” and then turn around when the body isn’t even cold and pull the trigger on one of the biggest crooks in the NCAA. Some wanted him, but those with the final say said no.

I guess this is a HUGE wake up call for all the doubters that said Pitino would “never coach at MAAC school like Siena” couple years back when that story broke! 😂 Wake up call or not, doesn’t mean it’s the right move and I’m not just talking basketball, unless you agree with winning at all costs. Iona isn’t looking great in the eyes of everybody. Plus the NCAA still had to come out with the Louisville decision. Do you think he will get less than Patsos got?

There are bigger, better, and schools that can pay a hell of a lot more than Iona. Shows their culture, win at any cost their marketing philosophy getting name recognition. To be fair majority of their players are we’re good kids. Rest of MAAC doesn’t have the same philosophy. My take is all.
