Lucky to pull it out. Second half offense (25 points on 7/28 shooting was brutal). Siena played a strong first half though and that was enough of a buffer. If we’re going to win on the road it can’t be three guys again. Need more contributions by 7-8 guys.
I know Sammy has played well (outside of boneheaded T) but I’d like to see Kyle Young get a few minutes. He was playing well and has barely played the last few games.

Nothing drives my crazy more than watching our "offense" dribble the ball east or west three times, stop, pass the ball outside, same thing with 2nd player, back to 1st player and so on. Clock is now down to 9 or 10 seconds after this (lack of ) ball movement and a 3rd player who doesn't have much of a handle, doesn't know what to do with ball and somebody ends up throwing a a desperation shot. No names mentioned but we really have only one guard on the entire roster that we can seriously call a point guard. Playing a team like Canisius, with the smaller, quicker guards is an example of the ball handling problems we have. I hope Carpenter really is the combo guard people say he is. Teams are starting to figure out how to stop our offense. The lack of multiple ballhandlers is definitely part of it. Most of our guards are young, freshman, freshman, sophomore, rs sophomore so let's hope they work hard on some skills in the off season.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that Carpenter is probably better than Carey. I have a feeling that his instincts for driving and attacking the rim will be better than Carey's. Carey is really struggling finishing 2's in MAAC play. Now, with that said, Carey also has the potential to play world's better than he currently is. He's clearly playing below his overall talent level.

Carey has no handle....we need one more true guard to come in with Carpenter.
Love me some Manny, but he dribbles too much
Since it didnt cost us the game, I LOVED seeing Sammy talking $h!t to a First team All-MAAC player after throwing his shot.

It could’ve cost us the game though...that T helped get Iona back into it. Sammy is playing well no need to do something dumb. If you’re up 20 with 3 minutes left OK I can see it. But that was a critical part of the game. Championship teams have to be smart!

I got the impression the official regretted not calling a foul on the play so was ready to give the makeup call at the next opportunity. Sammy just made that opportunity come quicker.

What hurt more was the Harris missed dunk followed by an Iona 3. Five point swing in a tight game.

Yeah, have to disagree on this one. Friday is a career backup who wasn’t even in the playing rotation two weeks ago. Crawford is the best player in the league not named Pickett and has already played in three ncaa tournaments. Great block, now run your ass down the floor and make a difference on the offensive end of the court.

They just happened to catch Sammy doing it. You don’t think getting swatted by our back up Center was a little embarrassing for the great EJ Crawford? Sammy has been a different guy the last 5 games. This “new guy” will help us win games against the bigger teams in the league. If getting a newfound, positive player comes at the cost of 2 points in a game we already won, then I can live with it. IF we lost, I’d have a different take

I Like Young and I think he will be a solid player for us. But Sammy is playing some of the best basketball of his career of late. He is playing with urgency you sometimes see from seniors approaching the end of their career. I hope he continues it, he can really help us as we move into stretch run of MAAC schedule.
