Four teams have played 15 games (exactly 75% of the regular season) the other 7 with 6 games to go. So I don't think it's too early to see where the race stands.
Siena 10-5 St. Peter's 10-5 Rider 9-6 Monmouth 8-6 Manhattan 7-7 Niagara 7-7 Iona 7-8 Quinnipiac 6-8 Fairfield 6-8 Marist 5-9 Canisius 4-10
Remaining schedules for the "contenders" - I'll include Siena, St. Peter's, Rider and Monmouth
Siena: at Fairfield, at Quinnipiac, at Marist, Niagara, at Monmouth (4 road, 1 home)
SPU: at Manhattan, Rider, at Niagara, at Canisius, Iona (3 road, 2 home)
Rider: at Iona, at St. Peter's, Monmouth, at Fairfield, Manhattan (3 road, 2 home)
Monmouth: at Marist, Quinnipiac, at Rider, Manhattan, Fairfield, Siena (4 home, 2 road)
All there for Siena. I think 4-1 gets first 90%. If we go 3-2 it's probably no better than 50/50 for first and 60/40 for second.
Monmouth/Rider play and SPU/Rider play so obviously someone will lose but also on the flip side someone has to win too. Only Monmouth has less than three road games of the group.
Time to become ROAD WARRIORS!

15-5 or bust, no reason to learn how to lose at this point.

It's the bottom of the 8th inning. Time to make shit happen.
4 of 5 games on the road. Win 3 and it might be good enough for top 2. Win 4 and perhaps a regular season title and NIT bid.
Saints will be playing the 4 worst ranked Kenpom MAAC teams in these 5 games....but it will be on the road which makes them terrifying.

We'll know a ton about Siena's fate in the standings after Sunday.
SPU will have played Manhattan and Rider... Rider will have played Iona and SPU
....and we'll have either won or lost at FF.
As mentioned in the tiebreaker thread, the Rider/SPU is game is one of those huge tipping points in the standings.

We have to win at FF-- then hope like hell Iona can beat SPC, Rider. Since we have the sweep I hope Iona wins all their games- after all they got a huge "moral" victory last night..LOL

If they win out, they're only 12-8...and just in the right spot to help us win tiebreakers. But, more importantly, they still play both Rider and SPU.

We just need to handle these one at a time. Ideally, everyone will beat themselves up a bit. Want to prove you’re a championship caliber club? Win some of these road games. Start it against Fairfield, who has been feisty in their own building and they defend. Can’t worry about sweeping this 3 game trip right now- just win the first one and roll from there. We passed the first test we had to at home, and (assuming we can beat Niagara) assured that no one can sweep us. A 4-1 finish will win us this league, I truly believe that.

I’d be happy with them beating Rider and SPU, but losing the other 3. Sure, maybe it helps us with tiebreakers, but I’d rather make their road as hard as possible to the NCAAs. Push them down to the 6 seed and make them play one more game (and ideally stay on the other side). That said, you’re right in the sense that especially if we are 13-7 and not 14-6, Iona being up there would be a big help. That said, I don’t know if I’d trade for that knowing Iona would be coming in winners of 9 of 10 with all the history on their side.

Good points but I'd rather not see Iona in a semifinal game if at all possible - so no 4 or 5 seed for them if we're #1. It is REALLY hard to beat a solid team three times in a year.
For that to happen, they'd either have to fall to the 6-seed or end up in that 2 v. 3 game. An added benefit of having them there (2 or 3) is the tiebreaker help they'd provide if needed.

Iona getting swept by Monmouth makes the path for them to getting a top 3 seed is very tough on tiebreaks... though I suppose they could sweep Rider (I’m not sure that’s better for us if we are the 1).
Just win and it will figure itself out for us. But yes— some help from the Gals would be nice this weekend!

Iona isnt winning out-- team isnt good enough, to their credit they had their modest win streak was vs bottom of the conference. Now that they are playing the contenders in conf ( Siena, SPC and Rider) and I expect them to lose most of them, although they are capable of pulling off a upset of Rider or SPC or at very least get another "moral" victory like their fans were claiming last night..LOL

One 'good' thing by the way is that Siena didn't really waste any good 3 pt shooting nights at home the last 4 games. They've generally sucked from three on the homestand.
Perhaps they're due to start making some again when they'll need it more.

Have to come out with more energy than them and take care of business.
