You want to be a good coach for Siena, you win home games and you beat Iona. Check, and check.

Coach Carm did a great job setting up that final play. I know Burns wasn't the first option, but he got a favorable matchup in all of the confusion and player movement. Burns was able to use his 21-pound advantage over Ristanovic to get to the rim and draw the foul. I've watched thousands of basketball games in my life and it is maddening to watch teams settle for ridiculous step-back threes in the final seconds of a tie game. It's a tie game! A bucket from anywhere wins it! Why not get it to your efficient big man and give him a look from point-blank range? Siena did that tonight, and they walked away with a huge win. That was my annoyance earlier in the year. They had a chance to beat Harvard and Yale, but both games they settled for step back jump shots. Glad to see they took it to the basket.

Carm nearly cost us the game. You can't play King and Hein together and he really shouldn't have played King at all last night. King could not guard Iona. Period. That and his shooting isn't worth the defensive liability. Don Carey also needs to become the player he was sold as. The guy isn't bad but is a turnover machine. Had we lost, that would have been on Carm. I'm glad he drew up the final play that he did but really, there was no reason for it to be that close. Except for Iona amping up their defense. You got to give the opponents credit SOMETIME. agree on this, give Iona some credit, although they were basically a 2 man team last night, that's it.........the rest of their players were not good at all, when was the last time you can say that about an Iona team.....................but also Siena destroyed the Gaels on the offensive glass in the 2nd half but yet did not convert on 2nd-3rd chances, they missed tons of point blank baskets so even though Iona did play much better defense in the 2nd half it was the Saints missing easy opportunities to extend the lead.................things got sideways also when Harris missed that alley oop dunk which he should have completed then the Gaels come down and get a 3pt play on the other end.............we did a good job on the FT line, however there were some key misses as well, both Pickett & Burns had 5 of the 8 misses, which you don't expect (Camper was a terrific 7-10 so we needed all of those as well)................

As a matter of fact that’s why he gets so much playing time as he has struggled hitting his shots on offense. He stays in front of his man, rarely gets beat off the dribble, boxes out his guy and is overall fundamentally strong on the defensive end (playing under Dumal at CBA you learn how to play defense) of the court.

Agree 100%! I was trying to think what Iona player abused King enough for Glen to post this??

Iona was trying to post King up last night and did so several times because of his SIZE. Because of this it made it harder for the other Siena defenders to play defense and compensate for King. This isn't high school BB anymore. Harris should be getting more minutes and some of these should be kings especially near the end of the game. I could see playing Haris and King at the same time at the end of games with King chasing out top but never King and Hein.

Good prospect is different than good player. Harris is a good prospect right now but he’s not always a good player. He wasn’t last night. I like King’s energy and toughness even when he isn’t hitting shots.

Hein and King draw no attention whatsoever from defenders, when one is in the game it allows an extra help defender and when both are in the game it completely bogs down the entire offense.

Jordan is a 18 year old freshmen-- in addition to being posted up, Iona's upperclassmen guards muscled him several times. Just a tough game for Jordan. I can see playing Jordan at very end of game in fouling situations, but last night it was brutally obvious King and Hein wasn't working. Gary really needs to work on his free throw shooting, 45% at D1 level just isnt getting it done and its hurting his ability to be on floor at end of games

Wish that was a typo but it isn't. And he's only had 1 game at 50%, every other game has been under 50%.

I really would like him to get his shooting touch back. if he's going to continue to play +/- 20 mins/game we need him ( and Harris) to score the ball more down the stretch.

And yes Young/Friday play much less than Don obviously. Don just has too many turnovers and is not shooting it well. If we're going to win the MAAC (regular and postseason) we need Don to be more efficient.
