After a fun season thus far, only St. Peter's and our Saints have 5 losses. Rider and Monmouth have 6 losses, then 7 or more losses for all the rest. So, here's a look at the MAAC's top two teams right now if things were to come down to tie-breakers.
St. Peters and Siena - vs. each other - the two teams split their series, 1-1
St. Peters and Siena - vs. Rider - Siena split the season series while St. Peters lost once and has yet to play the return game
St. Peters and Siena - vs. Monmouth - St. Peters swept the season series, while Siena took the first one with the last regular season game at the Hawks' home court looming as a potential huge game
St. Peters and Siena - vs. Iona - both teams right now are 1-0, so both must face the Gaels again, Siena meets them at home Wednesday, St. Peters has Iona at home on March 6th
St. Peters and Siena - vs. Manhattan - Siena split the season series while St. Peters is 1-0 vs. the Jaspers so far
St. Peters and Siena - vs. Niagara - St. Peters owns a win vs. the Purps while Siena lost up there by a point
So, key games - Iona vs. Siena, Monmouth vs. Siena, Rider vs. St. Peters and Iona vs. St. Peters- those four games could go a long way toward deciding a championship!!!!
What a turnaround by Siena, now winning 6 of their last 7 games to surge into a virtual tie for first!!!!!!!!!! Buckle your seat belts, Saints fans, this could be the most exciting finish to a regular season in quite some time!!!
Go Saints!!!!!!!!!!

Tie breakers are great...but still a tad early for me. One at a time- next up have to protect home court vs Iona. Then team goes on the road to play 3 straight against 3 of the 4 bottom teams in MAAC- Saints will be slightly favored in all 3. But we all know this teams history this year on road. For now I'll say one at a time- just keep winning

omg, as much as one could get excited about seeing variations in tie breakers............lets not forget you are only looking at 2 sets of teams, and unfortunately the way the MAAC has unfolded this year is that multiple teams can tie at various spots within the standings as well at the very top, and it might not just come down to 2 teams..........after the head to head they drop to a mini-conference when more than 1 team are deadlocked, then it drops to record against the top team once that tie has been determined (and then others down the line)............it is way too early to even consider possibilities, Siena's only focus is on Iona, nothing else matters and the troubles on the road for us really throw a wrench in any crystal ball scenario's..................

This is not much different, plus I find it more exciting when Siena’s up there as opposed to in past recent seasons. BTW, where do they have Siena bracketed in the NCAA Tournament?

That’s ok for us. Just hope Carm and staff are focused on Iona. Think this will be a tough game. Not only are they in a big roll, but they will be looking for some serious revenge after our game a few weeks ago. (Plus they have a decent record here at the TUC as our friend from the MAAC board has frequently told us 😁). Get it done guys!!

I dont care about Iona's record at the TUC- most of those games Iona just had more talent. I dont believe that's the case this year. Iona just another team in our way- a win Wednesday puts us in tie for first - with 5 games to go.

Siena really handled them in New Ro, so likely a much tougher contest on Wednesday should be expected.............they have been shooting much better and always very dangerous from 3 so our focus should be on not giving them to many open looks, Crawford & Agee will be a handful, and Jelly has been really good of late.......................difference in this game is the depth, with some injuries, the Gaels have really been shorthanded so hopefully we should be able to take advantage of that and exploit them as the game progresses..................

Just win baby!!! Sent from my LM-V405 using proboards 4 of the last 6 games are on the road..just sayin’. Marist and Fairfield games are simply games you have to win if you want to finish in the top 2. Siena matches up pretty good with QU and they're in a terrible funk. Winning both home games is imperative. Then going 2-2 on the road gets you to 13-7 that SHOULD get us in the top 2.

Just win baby!!! Sent from my LM-V405 using proboards 4 of the last 6 games are on the road..just sayin’. Two of those are at Marist and Fairfield - among the weakest teams in the league. If they can't at least win those two then they have no business being in the title conversation. SPU has been taking care of business on the road with a bunch of freshmen and sophomores.

I just don’t get the disaster on the road. Siena has shown they arguably have the best talent in the league. They need to get Marist and Fairfield plus the home wins. No reason they can’t do this. Iona is probably the second most talented team but the dysfunction seems at an all-time high. It’s time to send a MAAC team to the tournament that can actually win a game.

I've decided the best course of action regarding tiebreakers is to win the last 6 games.

According to the link nobody controls their own destiny yet: www.playoffstatus.com/metroatlanticbasketball/metroatlanticwinmagicnumbers.htmlIf St Peter's and Siena were to win out it would be extremely convoluted to try and win the tiebreaker since they have swept Monmouth. Would need Fairfield to finish ahead of Monmouth in the standings while losing to Siena in one of their remaining games.
