That's another thing that gets me. Some of you talk about Carms lack of emotion, but railed against Patsos over emotional approach. You seem to have a very specific idea of how someone should do this that or another thing. I think John Wooden did pretty well in a subdued manner. They want the bipolar sideline demeanor of Fran Fran ok, Jamion ok, no JP.

When you lose you look like you don't care and tapped out. When you win and are fiery you're like Fran a tough passionate guy. When you lose and do that you look like a lunatic (not saying Fran was like JP just that he did some nutty things on the sidelines too more so even at Iowa)

The best coaches in Siena's recent history were all screamers! Not so much with Coach Hewitt even though he was very vocal on the sidelines.I would just like to see a little more emotion from Carm than he's showing.GO SAINTS!!

If you look at the majority of coaches who's teams make its to the Final Four and win national championships - the vast majority of those coaches are calm at times an absolutely livid in the face of their players and the refs at other times. So I believe the coach needs to be in control of himself but employ the appropriate demeanor for what the situation calls for.

I think John Wooden did pretty well in a subdued manner. people didn't object to Patsos's "over emotional approach"-that's a euphemism for crazed arm waving, hyper emotional, spittle flying red- faced abusive and derisive rants. There's "over emotional"- and there's flat out cray cray (which was fortunately recognized). Personally I prefer a coach with fire and passion which is a tricky balance, true but it's far too early to label Carm yet. I have faith in him and like a first year teacher, it'll take a while to find his style.

That's why he went to UVM.
