I don’t see how Fran mccaffery could be considered. He’ll be better known for Iowa than Siena. I don’t blame him for leaving but an all time monument should be reserved for the players who spent their entire career here. I chose ubiles over bennerman because he played a major role on an ncaa tournament game winning team. I consider Fran a legitimate candidate for this "monument". He was here longer than any of the players being considered, and most of the ones being considered wouldn't have been at Siena if Fran wasn't here. His numbers aren't points, rebounds, assists, etc., but the wins, winning percentage, MAAC record and NCAA Tournament victories are pretty impressive. We can vote for him or not, but I don't see how you can say he shouldn't be considered. And I suspect that HJ had his tongue in his cheek when he nominated "Fleury, Deters, Gras and Downey". Maybe that got a few chuckles, but I think it was unfair to throw that out there. Obviously their numbers don't compare to the guys mentioned in the school's posting, but they were each an integral part of some pretty successful teams. Plus they all put in four years of day-in, day-out practice and work to be D-I athletes at the school we all support, and that alone earns them my admiration, gratitude and appreciation. I haven't voted on this Siena Mt. Rushmore thing yet because I've been occupied with trying to come up with the posters I would include in a sienahoops pantheon!

Maybe at least wait until his career is over? Let’s say we play Iowa. That would be weird. Or god forbid he really does something stupid. What if we hire him back and he tanks?

If this isn't symbolic of where our recruiting direction should be headed, then I don't know what is!! The MAAC is and always has been a guards league!

How can Billy Harrell not be the “George Washington” of this group? Probably because some people have never heard of him, or Billy Harrell for that matter.

Who was the best big man? Rossiter Agreed. #10 all-time at Siena in scoring, #1 in rebounds and #3 in blocks. MAAC PoY and #2 in the nation in rebounding average and double-doubles as a senior. Part of 3 consecutive MAAC Championships. The resume speaks for itself.
