And now we know why Cluess was rejected. I just knew his recruiting style with loads of jucos and transfers who had questionable pasts was a big reason why he never got any serious interest from high majors. Those of us who suggested that was an issue were right all along.

Anderson has a very good record and has also won NCAA tourney games past the first round..................the guy can coach, he wins, obviously the big question mark is recruiting in the NEast, but I guess if you take away the thought that he has to "stay" in just that recruiting area then he can find talent anywhere, and midwest/south has plenty............will be interesting to see how things work out with this hire.............

Those of us who suggested that was an issue were right all along. Cluess is pretty much an Iona lifer. He has no interest in jobs outside NYC and other programs outside NYC historically have had very limited interest in him as well. He had to pull his name out of contention at SJ it was getting embarrassing and the faction in contact had no intention of hiring him....

St. John's is falling into the best possible outcome--other than Bobby Hurley--with Anderson. Much better possibilities for restoring some luster to the program with him than the other candidates, including Cluess. Good luck to the Johnnies. GO SAINTS!!

The next logical move for Cluess is Hofstra when Jumping Joe Mihalich steps down.
