Credit goes to Coach for instilling and cultivating a culture of positivity and teamwork, for having the knowledge of what each player is capable of, both individually and as team players, and knowing how to put them in a position to win. Credit goes to the players for buying in, both on and off the court. Amazingly, the run this team is on has been done without two key players who were seeing significant minutes early in the season, which shows how Jamion can adjust on the fly, and players have stepped in and stepped up when they got the call. It boggles the mind thinking about what we will be capable of next season and beyond, but for now, I am just enjoying the ride this season.

HG, and how many fewer wins would we have without Jalen?
I am not trying to diminish Evan's contribution, whether you want to talk leadership or statistics. I just happen to think your post was hyperbole in anointing him co-coach.
And, yes, I can spell Jamion, but I don't always anticipate the impact of auto correct.

Not bad for a last place team! Lmao Sounds like something I’d say.

...The seniors are going to be missed more than you think next year... I agree, much of our recent success has been due in large part to the strong play of Fisher, Degnan and Smithen. The shoes they leave to be filled are getting bigger every game and I couldn't be happier for them. Hopefully the guys in suits and incoming frosh are up to the task!

Until then keep it rolling one game at a time. When the ball stops bouncing, take a deep breath and begin the preparation for next year and start recruiting for the out years.

I agree that the coaching staff is great, and I also agree that Fisher, and Degnan and Smitten have come on strong, but without the conductor (jp), the record would be much different.

You have to give credit for the seniors for stepping up no question but it took a coach like Jamion to get this play out of them. That's what good coaches do - they maximize the skills of their players. Give the players credit for working hard and buying into the system. We will be much more talented next year but we will only be great if they all buy in as the current seniors have this year. Excellent job and we've got a lot more work to do this year!!!!!
And I should add your MAAC POW is Evan Fisher - team went 3-0 and he averaged 19 PPG, 6 RPG shooting 48% from the field.
Kadeem was pretty good too- just under 10 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 3 steals per game, 2.3 APG

Only two posters on the Siena pick 'em contest picked the Saints to beat Rider. Be honest, how many of us would stand up and say in September we expected the Saints to go on the road to Manhattan and then Rider and win both games by two points each? ? I have always been a BIG FAN of Kadeem, so today was an extra special win with Rider going down and Kadeem playing such an important role in that win!! Siena needed some signature wins - I would say beating Iona and now Rider sure qualify for that. AND - now the team knows that on a given day, they can beat ANYONE in the MAAC - and have done just that. I had to work today, so was tempted to view results, but held off so I could watch the entire game start to finish when I got home - what a great feeling and what a great day to be a Siena fan! Now, here is the point. This team has earned the support of every single Siena fan and every casual fan in the Capital Region. Please, please DON'T stay home and watch the game Wednesday, cancel every meeting you can or postpone them, so that you can attend Wednesday night. I will be there. I hope you all will, too. LET'S PACK THE HOUSE FOR THE SIENA- IONA GAME. Let's give the MAAC a preview of what the MAAC tourney crowds might look like for this year. Go Saints!!!!!!!! Yipee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and one other simple pleasure from today - the Rider announcers talked about how "Siena will be a tough out in the tourney with their home court advantage". Funny, how when the Saints were down, no one talked about that. Now that Siena is good again, people want to throw that our way. In fact, it was refreshing to hear!!!!!!! Go Saints!

I hope you are right. Jamion has them playing so well on the road. We need to duplicate that at home. I think JC will have them ready to compete anywhere; at the TUC or the courts under the bridge in Green Island!

Pondering HG's comment and negative inference on noting Evan shaking his head "no" and then going out and making things happen. I don't for a minute believe Evan is telling his HC "no" to something he has been told to do. There are many questions that a HC can ask where "no" is not a rejection of a "to do" statement, e.g., "do you need a two minute break" - "is the foot bothering/impacting you". Evan showed his leadership abilities years ago during his recruiting visit - nothing new there - always vocal - a coach's dream from that aspect. JC has fostered a total team concept and encouraged Evan to continue his leadership skills while at the same time ensuring that the rest of the team was comfortable with and benefiting from it. Evan's prior coaching experience at Siena was realized under an alpha dog HC who couldn't coach a lick and failed to put ANY of his players in positions where they AND THE TEAM could excel. This HC has great X's and O's abilities, great team building skills, and, exceptional confidence building schemes.

Good post S22 - I have no info on this at all but I'm willing to bet that this year's post-season awards dinner will not be held until we stop playing...JC doesn't strike me as one who would fete a team with work still to be done...

The Rider game was another example of players playing their role but what I loved was how they were able to let KS shine on a night he was clearly up for. The team came out hot in the second half and kept grinding. Rider did what they needed to catch up twice but Rider could not find three players to out execute us. Three different times we turned to all five guys on the court to push back their runs. Truly a team effort. My sources tell me JC has them thinking about one day (not game) at a time. What do they need to do today to help the team.
