Why on earth is UA who has a coach with 5 NCAA trips, just came off 4 straight years of 21+ wins the 5th being 19 and who is rebuilding and will back to the top very soon trolling for your old trash. You people are seriously mental...lol I heard he was on their short list. He is/was short.

Of all the losing Siena coaches,Lanier is my favorite. He was our best "bad" coach. Two postseason trips and he left Fran some good players to help the transition.

Name me another MAAC program, besides Iona and Manhattan, that wouldnt give their left arm to have that resume on their coach in 4 years.

In theory your right, in real world MAAC schools never hire him, afraid of salary and he would be successful than move on quickly.

If Lanier has any interest in returning "home", the Niagara and Canisius jobs should rotate open again fairly soon.

One of the best recruiters ever at Siena!I think his problem was he tried to run all facets of the game without the right input from assistants.I am sure he learned his lesson from that HC job at Siena. He must be doing something right, otherwise he would not be a top assistant today and would certainly be willing to give him another chance as an HC!Most people learn from their mistakes.

He’s probably making more as an assistant than a head coach in the MAAC pays. The only reason to go backward to a coaching job in the MAAC would be a stepping stone to a bigger school HC job. I think the same opportunity would present itself from the seat he occupies now.
