Anything on Ratliff/Richard? I know Richard won't play this year but how is the rehab coming? Hopefully cleared to practice soon?

Sammy was off crutches at the Monmouth game, favoring his injured leg only slightly.

That would be the best thing for Sammy, IMHO. I was talking with Hammer and learned that there is an underwater treadmill in the ARC. Hopefully Sammy is on it. We use it with our horses as it is easy on the joints but you can set current to resistance which works great for cardio.

Heard we re trying to get Sammy to RS. From his standpoint it would be a bad move to not take advantage of the redshirt this year. By the time he gets back in shape the season will pretty much be over. He could easily give up a whole year of eligibility to play about 30 minutes the rest of the way. Graduate next year and then keep his options open for his 5th year. If he's still a fit at Siena then stick around for that 5th year, if he wants somewhere he can be an impact player I think he would be a pretty good player for most teams in the NEC.

Hopefully I will have a couple (as a minority owner) at Saratoga this year (3 y/o's)

If healthy and given the opportunity I believe that Sammy can be an impact player in the MAAC and for the Saints. Hate to see him leave and play somewhere else given all the hard work he has put in and how he transformed his body. IMO best thing for him and Siena is to have him redshirt and play two more years in the Green and Gold.

IMO best thing for him and Siena is to have him redshirt and play two more years in the Green and Gold. I think this is a good option for Sammy as well. He'd be great coming in off the bench for Burns. The team needs to develop another big man for the coming years. High impact freshmen at the MAAC level is hard to find especially big men, so development is key. I haven't counted scholarships for next year, but remember that Ratliff was supposed to get one next year or that was the plan when he transferred here - correct me if I am wrong. Seemingly, there is some great potential coming in next season so we will have to see how this shakes out. The depth next year hopefully will be much different than this year. The Saints could go from needing minutes from walk-ons to legitimately being 10 deep. We can't expect Pickett like freshmen, but it looks like the new guys got game. Every coach whiffs on recruits, and it's easier to do at the MAAC level, so I'd be really impressed if all the incoming freshmen live up to the hype. I would be surprised if JC and IV (Sammy) haven't had this conversation. JC seems like a straight shooter. Just trying to keep my expectations realistic. I think Sammy will fit well on this team the next couple of years. Best of luck to him in his recovery.

Let’s hope we still have the Sammy who put up 15 and 15 at Louisville last year.
