The kids being worn out is a coaching issue. It doesn't mean Fairfield is great or that it takes our "best game" to beat them. 6-8 minutes of bench production and Siena could have won. Just wait till they put a 20 point shellacking on us at their place and tell me if they stink. I'm not putting the loss on the kids, coaching comes into play big time here, winnable yes, but we didn't. It takes our best game of the year to win with this team. We played like crap and lost, no excuses, we got beat, no what if's, look at the record. Some of you need a vocabulary lesson or maybe you just need to twist my words to try to be right . Where did I say they "stink"? I said they aren't so good that Siena needs to play their "best game of the season".

The camera panned on the Siena bench several times. Both Bisping and Silas looked like they would rather be someplace else.

absolutely priceless...
“I don’t think guys are tired,” Buonaguro said. “Maybe Trenity is because he’s just gotten back (from a six-game academic suspension). But he’s been playing 30 minutes. Hymes, Brookins played 35 minutes and Rob plays 35 minutes. I think most teams now are playing guys a lot of minutes. Were they tired? I don’t know. I’d have to ask the players. I think it was more the Fairfield defense that took us out of rhythm.” Siena sophomore guard Evan Hymes, who had been sick the past two days, was asked if his team was tired at game’s end. He played 34 minutes and scored five points with five turnovers. “Yeah, definitely, but we’ve just got to get this day off, get some rest and we’ll be OK for Friday (at Loyola),” he said.

ohhh and by the way Bisping, you didnt play because Mitch doesnt think you can help him win games.
Freshman forward Brett Bisping didn’t play for the first time this season after hurting his back and wrist against Manhattan on Friday. But Buonaguro indicated it had nothing to do with injuries.
“At this time of the year, I’m going to go with the guys I think can win the game,” Buonaguro said. ” I’m not into this playing guys minutes just to play them. We’ve got to win games, so I go with the guys I think can do it. Tonight we didn’t make shots. We just didn’t.”

Reindeer fan: It borders on hypocrisy that Ensor and probably the college presidents are now talking about moving the tournament back to Albany. Gee, I wonder if 3 straight losing seasons has anything to do with that thought process. When Siena gets good again they'll be clamoring to move it once again.

Siena's selfish guards need to stop endlessly driving in to block situations down low and take more foul line pull-ups like Poole and Rakh, did once. That's when the coach needs to step in and bench them if they don't abide by the coach's instruction.

It will show how much of an " air head " Mitch is !

Where can I find the press conference? Click on links, then Iorizzo blog, then categories, and lastly on general.

It's kind of scary that Mitch loves Davis Martens. 1 of only 3 to play in every game now, along with OD and Hymes, so apparently Mitch thinks Davis can win games for him.

The ONLY reason he is getting the run is simply because of experience. Mitch is old school. Play the veterans. It is recognized on the recruiting trail and a big reason why he is struggling to ink top targets

He's older, but all he has proven is he's athletic and unskilled.

After the presser when he said that he didn't think the guys were tired, a local TV sports guy asked him if fatigue was a factor, and Mitch actually acknowledged that he'll have to look into that ... The man is mentally challenged and a hazard to his players' health. Everyone in the building not named Mitch knew the team was gassed and the TV guys commented on how they were flat-footed and not getting to loose balls due to fatigue. I just hope no one else suffers a serious injury with the abusive way they are played.

These guys should be able to play the entire game if necessary. The only players I can understand an argument for are Poole because of the flu recovery and rak because if his back. At the end of the game we find out that hymes had a sore throat, not sure if that was a factor. The effort was horrible from the start. When your winning you find energy. When you are losing and down getting tired is a good excuse for the players and coaches. Getting Consistent effort from players is a problem for this coach. He is a soft coach. Playing his kids too hard is not the problem. Sorry guys I think you all are overstating the the tiredness factor. Sent from my iPhone using ProBoards app

For the most part I actually agree with you, except that it's obvious the players ARE tired. So it is on the staff as well as the players if they are not properly conditioned to handle the amount of minutes. In my opinion, the Siena training staff and coaches have done a horrible job over the last 10-15 years at least. Too many weak, out of shape players never improving, too many games missed due to injury and illness. Sent from my iPhone using ProBoards app

Fran has 9 guys averaging 15+ mpg this year. Larry Brown has 5 guys averaging 30+. So it does vary greatly by team. Mitch just can't make it work any way he tries.
