We have one scholarship left. Gotta think it's for a long, athletic, shot blocking type.....at least thats what Im hoping for.
Barlow is a under recruited forward from NJ I think. I loved what I saw on video.

Wow staff has done a nice job and they keep folks guessing. Now let’s get Barlow and save a ship for a big man transfer next spring Is Neal no longer on the table for us? I would think if Neal was really serious about wanting to stay with Coleman he would have committed with him, or soon thereafter. I speculate he's waiting to see if he can go higher. Plus they just got Billups at his position.

I thought Billups was a point guard when I posted about Barlow. Some sites have Billups as a pg. I would love Jaylen Stinson at PG Until we hear otherwise, we have Pickett and Carpenter as PGs...maybe Carm doesn't feel he needs to rush and is focusing on the versatile wings instead. Ideally they'd be able to handle and pass as well...but they have time to develop.

We've offered quite a few PG's and very few bigs.
From a #'s perspective and balancing the roster for '21-22 I think PG makes more sense. Would be beneficial to have an understudy for a year with Pickett versus relying on a '22 recruit to come in and play major minutes running the show.

Coleman and Billups look to me like wings who will rebound. Better to be guard rich than big rich.

I thought he liked to run, so I don't know what he's going to do with all those guys.

I know you're super high on Carpenter, I'm just worried we're putting too many eggs in the basket of him being able to run an offense. Maybe I'm just wary because Carey was supposed to be another combo guard who could play point and he really struggled running the show when Pickett sat. I love what Carm is doing so far but I do think Pickett covers a lot of our weaknesses. Carm seems to go after athletes first and hopes they can develop into good players - which, at the MAAC level, is not a bad gambit, but again leaves us without a viable backup PG or PG of the future if Carpenter is not that guy.

Until told otherwise, we have Pickett for 2 more years. Yeah, I'd personally like to have a roster of 9 tough combo guards and 4 bigs...but not everyone looks at it the same way...especially the players.

Dont forget about King. He played the point in HS. I wouldnt want him there for 30+ min a game, but he could handle the job 5-8 min a game. BTW--kk has unfortunately left both boards after a back and forth with a few Iona fans. Gonna miss his contributions out here.

It really takes all of the fun and excitement out of the game/sport for me. Same thing is happening in baseball. Stat geeks are ruining the game.

King's on-ball skills didn't impress me last year - only 21 total assists and the same amount of TOV don't give me much confidence he can run an offense. Hope he can seize more responsibility and prove me wrong, but if not he's still valuable as a 3&D PG. Lol, I lurk this board occasionally to keep up with news and agree he brings great insight
