I would hope there are exceptions. Size doesn’t always tell the entire story. If Oates is on this kid there’s a reason. JC signed GD who is maybe 6’. Amica deserves a look. JC signed Darwiche sight unseen out of desperation because be needed bodies after being hired late and losing half three team to transfer. Once Walker and Carey arrive next season along with Richard's return, you will rarely see Darwiche in a game again. The PGs JC has offered for 2020 are 6'1 and 6'4 respectively. And the one he wants for 2019 is 6'3. These guys are as small as he's going. JC did have success with Robinson who was 5’ 5” at MSM It’ll be interesting to see if GD sticks around with the guard situation next year.

Amica is 5'10. For that reason, I can almost guarantee that he is not even on JC's radar. He started a dude who is 5-5 the last 3 years at MSM and his final year averaged over 20 a night. If you can play, you can play.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see him pursuing a sub-6 foot dude. I suspect Richard is going to be the last of those we see for awhile.

We d be very fortunate to get this kid. He ll have several better schools on him next year, unless grades are an issue. He has no weakness. College ready body as a junior, fastest guy on our team the minute he puts on a uniform and can score inside and out. I was amazed how well he finished at the rim for a smaller guard. A player is a player. Size shouldn’t matter. Using Luke could be the difference in possibly getting this kid.

I just don’t think you limit a kid that can play over a few inches. Have to think JC is smart and flexible enough to make exceptions.
I think Robinson proves that

As an NU grad I’m glad the Niagara coaching staff didn’t have a litmus test for height when they were considering Calvin Murphy’s recruitment. If a kid can play, height is not a disqualification.

The same could be said for Wake Forest (Muggys Bogues), NC State (Spud Webb) and Univ. of Washington (Nate Robinson)

I have only seen a few clips of Amica, so I have no idea how good he is, but fact he plays on Sutherlands team and is a city rock, I'm quite sure our staff is aware of him

That's exactly right Tony. That dude is a City Rock and plays on a Siena signee's team. Anyone who thinks the current staff is unaware of him hasn't yet grasped how hard this staff works at recruiting. And yet there are offers out to two 2020 point guards but not him. Can't spell it out where JC's interests lie any better than that.

Bamisile who is in the top 200( might be top 150) received an offer from West Virginia a few days ago. Can’t go wrong with him or Cory Barnes

Kid looks interesting on the clips I’ve watched. I’m guessing he’s smaller than the listed 5’ 10”. I like what I saw but again video doesn’t tell the entire story. Not sure what his defense on and off the ball is like, how well/consistently he shoots it or how well he gets his teammates involved etc... all stuff I’m sure the staff is well aware of.

Oh, they def know who he is. How could you not while recruiting Luke and being a City Rock. I heard the height has nothing to do with his situation. Not a good enough perimeter shooter is what I was told. JC is in love with the 3 pt shot, BUT having a kid like that only helps when the floor is spread. I like having a smaller guard on the roster too because you see so many small guards in the MAAC.
I'm not worried about it. I'm sure we'll get a quality guard in the '20 class.
