Well, don't forget that Bol Akot of Quinny is 21st, Corey McDeithan of Rider is 25th, and Jalen Leach of FF is 28th. Myles Foster of Monmouth is 32. Mekhi Gray is only 42nd. Either this was a bad year for the NEPSAC preps or a really good year for MAAC recruiting. Akot is very good. I haven’t seen McKeithan. Leach I haven’t heard great things about. Still, have to love landing a guy in a tier that often goes to HMs and at minimum usually winds up in the A10. My take on McKeithan from his stats while on Carpenter's team is he's a score first PG. He likes to shoot a lot of jumpers as opposed to getting to the line. At only 5-9 or 5-10, his success could largely be determined by how well he shoots those jumpers and how well he can run a team. He shot very well for NE6 this year..not so well the year before. So we'll see. He's not going to be a rebounder and he doesn't SEEM like he's that much of a ballhawk on defense. He could end up being just an Evan Hymes/Zavier Turner type. He could be very good but, the fact is, he's like 6 to 8 inches shorter than Carpenter. So, his upside on paper isn't as high. Curious to know how tall Akot really is. If he can shoot, he starts for Quinny over Lewis probably. Lewis not really a threat away from the the rim. He just gets there at will. Akot might run the team better and be more well-rounded. Could be all-rookie this year.

I did some research tonight and think I found a very realistic fit for Careys scholarship. Looked for a grad kid so we can free up this scholly for '21. Need a reliable shooter that knows how to play so his adjustment wont take long. I like that he's a Conn. kid. We've always had luck there MARK CARBONE....6'2" guard that played at San Diego his freshman year, and transferred back east and played for Billy Herron the last 2 years at New Hampshire. Shot 41% from 3 and 89% from the line (kk specials). Played around 19 min a game. Avg 2 reb and 2 assists a game last year. Much better than Hein offensively, not quite as good defensively. Won 2 State titles in HS at East Catholic. Shared the backcourt with Siena recruit/Kansas St SR. Mike McGuirl. He's probably not a kid Id recruit out of HS, but to fill in a need we have this year, I think he'd a perfect fit off the bench....and its realistic we could get him this late.

Part of me says he should be our starting center this year. Just have him run around attacking the rim and getting rebounds alongside Camper. Would make for a fun game to watch. Lots of athleticism. Siena could clean up on loose balls. If we're not going to force turnovers, let's dominate the boards even more than we already did last year. If Curry and Golson are equal, the PT should go to Golson to develop him.

Also, just as an aside, Carm won't play more than 8-9 guys long term. He's hinted at that in interviews. That means 2-3 of those guys are gonna get very sparse mins. And one of them could be a guard/wing. I'm betting it's either Harris or Tate. We need King's shooting and Carpenter and Hopkins are probably too complete as players to not play most of the time. Carpenter may start out on the bench early, but I think he'll be getting 30 mpg sooner rather than later.

Golson is a beast, college ready frame...............with Camper, Golson, Tate & Curry, Siena should do really well on the glass (and I didn't even mention Young who really likes to mix it up for caroms)............

Especially early in the year coaches usually tend to lean towards experience- So I expect Hopkins to start And Curry to get get plenty of time. But as year goes on I can see Carpenter pushing Hopkins into Tay fisher type role off bench. If he does King could be odd man out- up front I expect Curry to start with Tate ( when eligible) and Golsen pushing for time- Harris brings a lot of intangibles to table, Harris doesnt have to be lights out shooter ( and he's not) but he does have to hit his free throws. I think his time will be tied to how much his free throw shooting has improved. And I'm not writing off Young. At Any rate, a lot of this is just guesses on our part-- what we are not guessing at is Carm has a lot of " bullets" in the chamber. This team should be deep and talented at every position on floor with many options for Carm. Going to be a thing of beauty to see it all come together and play out

This team should be deep and talented at every position on floor with many options for Carm. Going to be a thing of beauty to see it all come together and play out I think Siena’s top 4 overall players and scorers are Pickett, Camper, Hopkins, and Carpenter. I expect the minutes to ultimately reflect that. There is no reason Hopkins and Carpenter can’t both start. The coaches expect a big year out of Carpenter and Hopkins didn’t come here to be 6th man again. The fact that Carm says ‘it’s an important year for Harris’ seems more like a shot across the bow to me...to get him to put work in. If he makes his FTs, he’s more efficient than Tate overall...because he can be the better defender. Tate’s 0.95 career PPS is Matt Hein level worrisome..but with more talent. The only way it improves is if he’s the beneficiary of the Pickett and Roll and finally starts drawing fouls. If he starts and shoots too many of his midrange jumpers, we’re doomed to Evan Fisher production and the teams underperforms ability. Burns’ PPS was 1.85 last year. We can’t afford anyone to drop to 1.10 or less who gets a lot of shots. We don’t force enough TO’s to get enough possessions to make up for such a thing.

We have so many awful decisions to make. We just had 8 years without this type of problem.
