Didn't a bunch of people want Moore at Siena? Taking King was the smarter move. The coaches had it right. The ironic thing is that Moore thought he was too good for the one D1 offer he got to Howard.

Did he actually say he was too good to go to Howard? You speak with him or have a quote? Maybe he didn’t want to live in DC, maybe he didn’t click with the coach, maybe they didn’t have a major he wanted?

And nothing else better came along. If it were me, I would have not rolled the dice and chosen my sole D1 offer before going D2 or Juco. I imagine a 4 year school is more likely to have his major than a juco. And living in DC has got to be better than Oklahoma. The bottom line is I agree with Hoopjunkie - passing on Howard to go to Northeastern Oklahoma is a head scratcher. But hey, that's just me. To each their own.

Ever think he didn’t have the grades which is why he went pre and then juco? I know it rules him out in your mind as ever being able to come to Siena now

Moore was a nice player, but was an academic disaster. Seems like a year later, nothing has changed. Maybe in 2 years he'll get his dream to play D-1 ball.

Never been in his position, but at some point he (and lots of other guys like him) has to realize that making a living playing a game is a very, very remote possibility, and maybe it’s time to focus on something else. Wish him well. Hope he has enough self-discipline for a reality check.

It was absolutely his grades. I actually really like the kid, but he is one of those who grew a decent social media following. He spent too much time listening to those around him, and not enough time in the classroom. Hoping he gets it right because he is a talent

He visited twice without an offer so the coaching staff ruled him out long ago, and they are the deciders. Word was he was a late qualifier, not a non-qualifier. That would explain going prep to get more D1 interest, but it doesn't explain still not having any D1 interest after the prep year.

Manhattan got a commit from Seton Hall transfer, 6'4" guard Anthony Nelson. Think he's got 2 more years. Thats a good get for Maz.

Carpenter finished 19th ranked recruit in NERR New England rankings. Moved up a few spots and ahead of about 4 UMASS recruits and kids who signed with Iowa and UNLV

Best before him was Curtis Cobb in 2015... for whom talent was never the problem (1300 career points). The only two other top 30 NERR kids in the past 4 years in the MAAC out of HS: Dimencio Vaughn (#23 in 2016) EJ Crawford (#26 in 2016). That doesn’t include transfers: Dana Tate, Anthony Nelson, Kevin Marfo, and Travis Atson. All that to say we got a darn good one.

Well, don't forget that Bol Akot of Quinny is 21st, Corey McKeithan of Rider is 25th, and Jalen Leach of FF is 28th. Myles Foster of Monmouth is 32. Mekhi Gray is only 42nd.

Either this was a bad year for the NEPSAC preps or a really good year for MAAC recruiting. Akot is very good. I haven’t seen McKeithan. Leach I haven’t heard great things about. Still, have to love landing a guy in a tier that often goes to HMs and at minimum usually winds up in the A10.
