So you’ve seen new offers for 2020 go out since the season ended? I haven’t. Where was the scholarship for Bryan Griffin coming from? They had room for him. They’ll have room for a big if they can find the right one. How do you know for sure we even offered him?

Georges and Ratliff wont embarrass themselves and "enter the protal." Thats for players that other teams could desire.

I was in a conversation where someone said Sutherland has a buddy at St Rose and they would like him. Darwiche is half way around the world. Sometimes kids like to have some certainty of where they will land before they announce - I am sure the coaches are helping kids.

I'd like a man on the inside but I'm also intrigued by the smaller, attacking team we'd have without one. It would certainly differentiate us from the larger team Iona has. I'm also still intrigued by BK. I know he's the underdog in this thing from a strength standpoint but I'm still curious about him. Kids who have some of the footwork/agility/size combination that he has often succeed at this level. I'm almost ok with a Tate/Golson/Young/BK platoon if it comes to it. I think Tate, Golson, and BK would do well in the Pickett and Roll. And Young can sort of just be the tough guy. Perhaps Siena could force more TO's by going a bit smaller and improve the TO margin. That crew can probably still match Burn's rebound rate. I mean, Camper's the one doing most of the dirty work anyway.

Luke was on a local TV interview 2 days ago and he still sounded all for Siena.

A lot of times in this situation, your current staff will be making several calls on your behalf to lower level schools to gauge any interest. Doing a solid for both parties. I'm sure wants to find a spot for GD and JR. He needs to if he wants to keep bringing in other kids. and KK, we DEF need another big kid to rotate with Young. Minimum 6'8" 230, with a "in the paint" attitude.

Some kids take some time to develop. Ryan Rossiter as you remember, was not a standout his Freshman year, but did he ever become a player!!!

I've been clamoring for a damn shotblocker since the day Fisher replaced Silas. However, at some point, you just have to wonder if they're better off being more versatile than the MAAC opposition as opposed to being bigger than it. The question will be...do we have to be a top 80 team to beat Pitino this year? Top 100? Top 120? I think Siena is top 130 now easy. If a Burn's type impact player isn't available at this stage...then maybe you just platoon and focus on forcing more TO's from the center position. Burns only had 6 blocks and 17 steals all year. It's not that hard to improve on the D even with what we have. And Pickett can make a lot of guys look good offensively if they have the maneuverability and ability to make a FT. I mean Friday and Young's FT rates really weren't that different from Burns'. It's just that Burns made them. That tells me a lot of it is system driven because of the Pickett and Roll. If a guy like Tate shoots the 75% or so from the FT line that he shot in AAU, then all he has to do is make the layups and FTs that Pickett gives him and the efficiency might not be as much of a drop off as expected. You'll probably still have some ...but maybe you make up for some of it in other ways like team rebounding/defense/TO margin.

So just to clarify, if there are no changes then scholarship roster stands as:
SR - Manny Camper JR - Jalen Pickett JR - Don Carey JR - Dana Tate JR - Jimmy Ratliff JR - Georges Darwiche SO - Gary Harris SO - Jordan King SO - Kyle Young SO - Luke Sutherland FR - Aidan Carpenter FR - Bennett Kwiecinski FR - Colin Golson
Ratliff should be able to graduate next year so if he wants to come back one more year to sit the bench then so be it. Georges would be around for two more years, would be nice if they could find another spot for him or move him into a student assistant role. If he's well liked and works hard and wants to be at Siena then that's why you have 13 scholarships, let him stick around. If you're trying to sell the Siena program as a family you don't need to be kicking kids out that want to be here. Let slick Rick do that at Iona.
