There certainly is a loot of activity going on for a non-contact student recruitment period. the usual look away by the Ncaa for some (Iona?) and not for others is indicative of our societies burial of the spirit of the law while getting around the letter of the law. Why don't they simply say no contact means of any kind whatsoever by any parties either directly or on behalf of anybody.no newspaper releases; nothing; nada!! Small wonder we have so many lawyers. When I was growing up, no meant no without equivocation. If you even brought it up again you knew you would get it across the face. It left room for little doubt.

Contact us allowed just not in person. It’s all by phone, FaceTime and text.

Burn’s was a very extremely “unique” circumstance and most likely not going to be repeatable anytime soon. I think Siena should be very attractive to a HM player grad transfer who didn’t get a lot of PT. Yes Burns was from here but kids want to play and go to the NCAA tournament. Siena is a great place for both. I’m sure Carm and company have moved on to the next one. They are hard workers and have a great eye for talent.

Mike, phone, FaceTime, virtual school tours are the way recruiting is being accomplished during the virus.

If no contact is allowed, that puts the players (prospective student-athletes) at a serious disadvantage. How would they know which schools might be interested in them, and vice-versa. As a couple of posters have mentioned, there isn't supposed to be any direct face-to-face contact. I'm sure all schools are scrupulously observing that policy ( )! What do you have against lawyers? One of my daughters is one. A corporate attorney, and a damn good one. And I bet there are several of them who post on here regularly who might take exception to your comment. Sorry to read that ".......get it across the face" comment. No offense, but hate to see that kind of thing.

This is what I got not what I did. However, you knew what the rules were and learned how to follow them. Too often today kids don't know and more often than not if they whine a lot they change.

Wonder if Bob Simon knows Brandon Johnson. The 6’8, 220 lb. redshirt junior just left Western Michigan, e he averaged 15 and 8 last season. The Broncos went 13-19 last season, so he might want to play for a winner.

Antoni Wyche coached James Karnik, who averaged 12 and 7 at Lehigh this season and is now in the portal.

Haven’t seen Karnik in the portal on either Verbal Commits or Stadium.

Highly successful Mid-major kids that want to transfer for their 5th year don’t want to make a lateral move. They want to play on TV in a power 5 conference like Marfo/Kelly just signed up for. We have no shot at a kid like this. He ll be at a G’Town or Villanova next week.

Agreed, not only that with no spring evaluation period P6 teams seems to be dipping into successful mid major kids this spring more than normal, rather than taking a chance on incoming freshmen they cant evaluate

Any shot at all on this rim protecting grad transfer? A shot blocker would be great, but even at Stony Brook, this guy averaged only 17 min, 3 pts, and 5 rebs per game, and he shot 46% FTs. I could be wrong, but is that all we want from the center position?
