That's all I'm saying. If he's back there's no use mucking up the interwebs with bile. Might as well let him do his job on the trail now that he's finally doing work there. Maybe all that extra work that he's finally doing will bear some fruit. If he's not gone in a couple days...he's not going to be this year. People might as well accept it. When a coach is fired, you want these things done quickly so you can move on as soon as possible...and the program has direction. You don't procrastinate. Mitch was fired 3 days after his final season ended. We're already at day 4. Two things: - Mitch didn't have a 7 figure 'buy-out' - other than less than stellar results as a head coach, Mitch had no 'issues' or behaviors that cast an undesirable light on the college. But, you know, we heard the same 'behind the scenes' drama with Mitch here too. Berating players, throwing players under the bus for poor play at press conferences. ...yada yada yada. It feels to me like every time a coach is losing all of a sudden the same things pop out. Some of it is always fabricated to meet people's agendas and some of it is real. I never know what's what. I just sit back and let the administration tell me when there's a new coach...cause I can't control it one way or the other. This 'we need to come up with money first' talk sounds to me like wishful thinking on the part of those who are upset with the results. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. But if they don't have some kind of a plan already in place, it probably means that there isn't one.

Any "issues or behaviors" with JP?

Yes, issues or behaviors. It has been asked here before, who watched JP while coaching at Loyola and thought 'wow, we really need to get that guy locked and loaded for multiple years'.

It isn't about numbers in several areas. Wins are important, but integrity is paramount to retaining the supporters of a program the size and scope of Siena College. We are at a crossroads brought about by some poor choices.

where is WALDO (er, I mean Patsos) ??........amid the rumor of him being let go via a press conference or staying put..........HE BETTER be out there right now pounding the pavement (and his coaches), and every lousy breath he takes better be with recruiting on the brain..........don't want to hear he is taking ANY vacation, in fact, I could care less if never takes ANOTHER DAY OFF............at this point, his neck is beyond being on the chopping block......and if JP has ever seen the movie "Blue Chips", perhaps he needs to buy a tractor if one of the recruits dads needs it for his farm, as it might be the only thing to save his skin and his coaching career.............

I sent my note on Friday. I would request that people be courteous and respectful. If you're just out to vent, do so on this board. If you'd like to see a real change then your note should be one that invites the reader to continue reading. I haven't received a response yet but it has been less than 1 business day. When I have written in the past (end of Mitch's tenure) and I did receive a response. Of course people are being respectful-who is disrespectful to a Franciscan friar???...I have heard that both the board and Brother Ed have received many such letters -and I would be pleasantly surprised if the president answered all of them personally, but certainly didn't request or even expect a reply. As alumni (over 35 members of my family) I have the right and even the duty to express my displeasure with the direction the program's taken. "To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men"- (World History 101-credited to Abe Lincoln, but originally from a poem by Ella Wheeler Wilcox)

Even lousy Marist is ditching their garbage coach Maker. We better make a move and we better make one quick.

The press conference is to announce Jimmy is going out on the road recruiting.
If he isnt at the National Prep Championship the next few days than he should be fired.

Texas Tech just announced an extension with Chris Beard today so at least we don’t have to fear losing Patsos to Lubbock this go round.
