Hoping Brian Kelly gets the ziggy this year. He is everything I hate about Nick Saban without all the winning.

I’m assuming you are a FSU fan who I used to dislike until Syracuse joined their conference (although I still can’t stand Miami). Rough year for you too given the standards there.

no, that's Rob (nolesaint). I'm a Notre Dame fan. (former known as quackman) I changed to nolasaint when we moved to New Orleans. We've since moved to Dallas.

Oops! My apologies. I knew you were quackman but never made the connection to New Orleans, duh. I wonder how it is to live in Texas and not like any of the football teams lol.
Maybe we can turn this into a college football thread. Who does everybody root for? I have many allegiances in order:
Syracuse (alma mater) Army (national pride, location) Notre Dame (dad liked them) Navy (national pride, location) Air Force (national pride, location) Penn state (struggle with this now but almost went to school there) Buffalo (New York) Umass (met a few staffers before their first season) Any acc team except Miami Any non power 5 team

If not, then it depends on the coach. Love Dabo, hate Saban and Urban Meyer. I'll root for BC which goes back to Flutie being there. Out of the Texas teams, I can stomach TCU and Texas Tech. Hate Baylor, A&M and just feel pity for Texas. (i'll hate them if they ever get good again) Of course, I always root for any Northeast team given they disadvantages they have, even Syracuse.

Lots of noise in TLH about Texas A&M going hard after Jimbo and giving him a %50 raise. Personally, I think he would be foolish to leave. At A&M he'd be in the SEC West, arguably the toughest conference division in the country, be paid tons of money and have to deliver within 4-5 years. At FSU he is already in a program with a great tradition, strong program support and he usually has 1 team (Clemson) to beat every year to make it to a great bowl game or even better the national championship playoffs.

That’s probably the same reason will brown never leaves—- arguably one of the easiest conferences to win an auto bid. Tcu is an interesting progra M for me —- they were a power 5 but now not—- so do I root for them? I find myself still rooting anyway. Here is an interesting article I recently came across on how to improve football—- love the relegation idea I brought this up myself for cb- www.sbnation.com/a/college-football-commissioner

They're in the Big 12 and will be playing Oklahoma is the first Big 12 Championship game this weekend.

I don't see it happening. To use John's analogy, it's like Will Brown leaving Albany to go to Niagara or St Peters. Slight step up in league but at a secondary job with the new league. Albany/Florida St is a better job. I think Florida made a great hire in Mullen. Can't wait to see Chip Kelley implode (again) at UCLA.

I said it backwards —- they went to a power 5 conference from a non power 5 yet I still root for them as if they are still in the mwc

Best college gameday sign ever: Baylor - 0 Karma - 5 (when Baylor was still winless on teh season)
